sullim4
I think the Chargers benching was pretty clear - McDermott thought Peterman might be better than Taylor so he was willing to take the risk to see how Nate performed. It turned out to be a bad decision. I doubt McDermott lied about that since it was so obvious. The Anthony Lynn/Whaley thing though was bizarre, yes.
HappyDays
Whaley still thought Manuel had promise, somehow. He just had to get one last look at him. Even Rex wasn't that stupid so he quit rather than coach that game. It was the only admirable thing he did in his tenure here. But thank god they're both gone. 4

He got up in front of the room last year after the Peterman debacle and admitted he was wrong to the team. Dudnt try and defend it or spin it. That's a leader right there. People know there will be bad decisions that get made and they accept it. They just need to believe in the person making them and he definitely has that. I'm not sure what it is about him but everytime I see clips of him, the embedded videos etc I just think to myself he has "it" from a leadership perspective. Its hard to describe what it is but I just know that he has it. This might go down as one of the great hires in Bills history. Some biils fans will continue to spew hate, some may come to belive or already do that he is better than what we have starting now... and Cleveland fans clamoring for mayfield now, will get it at some point and be super disappointed.. wppete
Cmon Tyrod quit talking trash. The bottom line is Tyrod three for 56 yards against the Saints in an emabarassibg QB display seen in years. That’s why he got bench. Bottom line.

That Jets game on Thursday night was soooo bad as well. I remember him trying to run on like every passing down, and him getting sacked each time. He had his good moments, but could also be frustratingly bad. His offence put up 3 points in the playoff game? Next please.

Again, it's pretty common knowledge they were going to renegotiate with Taylor in the offseason and didn't want an injury to put them on the hook for $31M. The Whaley/Manuel thing did not apply in week 17. Edited September 8, 2018 by GoBills808 forgot a word

It's not some Whaley/Manuel/Jones conspiracy, although I do remember that being the line du jour among the Taylor truthers at the time. But I never figured you for one of them...Whaley had his ups and downs but I think we should both be able to agree he knew what was best for the Bills WAY more than Ryan did.

Freddie's Dead
B word, please! You're an NFL QB who threw for 56 yards in a game. FIFTY-SIX!! You deserved to be benched just for that. Since you don't even deign to tell us what was said, you have no credibility.
