The Bills Are Seven Point Dogs in Week 1

Recommended Posts

Good....fine.....let the whole NFL sleep on the Bills and then, BAM! Smacked right in the mouth....somewhere in the middle of the season, there will be talking points and discussions by the pundits and "experts" about the Bills over-achieving when all the fans will simply say, "You have to trust the process".

Pittsburgh only 6-point favorites against the Brownies.

Everyone says "the browns are going to be so much better this year!!!"

1. No ****, nowhere to go but up.

2. I look at their schedule, and regardless of who's at QB (or HC), I'm not sure I see them winning more than 5 games at best.

Really? The Ravens are not that good. They are one of the easier teams on our schedule. It will be tough to get the win with a rookie QB on the road but our D should shut that offence down. It will probably be a close game decided by a field goal. If we stop their running game we will win.

They opened up there last year as well..only gave 7..i remember cause i hammered the Brownies on the moneyline..and they lost by 3...should have taken that as an omen and closed up shop for the year?

It makes sense.  Look, you normally get three points for being the home team.  So, really, the odds are just saying the Ravens are three points better.  Now, both teams finished 9-7 last year, with Buffalo edging them out of the playoff spot based on strength of victory tiebreaker.  Since then, Buffalo lost talent on the offensive line.  Worse, our starting QB is either going to be a second-year player who threw five picks in a half, or a rookie that hasn't played a regular-season game yet.  Considering all that, I think it's fair that the Ravens are six-point favorites.  Don't get me wrong, I think Buffalo is actually the better team and might just win it...but from a neutral standpoint setting odds, it's really not that outrageous a line.

Which D are you talking about?  The one that got run over in the first quarter against Cleveland, or something else?

Absolutely HAMMER the Bills and the under!

Bills 17 - Raven 10

Yep. Get +245 while you can, once they announce Smith's suspension and Allen starter it's going to change for sure.

*Forgot to add: parlay Bengals and KC, take the points.

Yeah that was pretty bad.  Made me miss...(gulp) Preston Brown.   And Collins/Dixon are both beasts.  We might get steamrolled on the ground if our LB's dont tune up.

On the other hand, Balt Dline is mediocre, they're just great ball hawkers on the backside.   Daboll will have an innovative plan, and we can run on them too.   It's why I like Josh Allen to start, because Shady and Ivory will be softening them up until they stack the box, then we let the kid sling a few....

Texans plus 7 all day.    Buffalo line seems right.     They say Flacco is looking sharp.

OU 41? that over looks mighty tasty.

Lowest on the board, not a surprise given the defenses and unknown at QB (even for the Ravens). They say Flacco isn’t mailing it in so far, so who knows?

I don't see it.  I'll have to see how Frasier tries to hide Edmunds deficiencies and what fronts/alignments he will employ to shore up the run defense because I can guarantee that they will try to take our young linebackers to the woodshed with a lot of misdirection and play action. I want us to win and I want Allen to look great, I just think the road trip and that defense is not a good recipe for us.

Balt Dline is mediocre

It is?  Maybe when Brandon Williams is not playing it is.  But they plug the run up real good when he is.

Well, it is @Baltimore so that gives you +3 for the home team. We are an unknown so that gives you the other +3. Bills steal this one and take the league by storm week 1.

nothing wrong with that line at present

I can see BAL winning their home opener vs an inexperienced QB and suspect run D by a touchdown. This line seems about right.

What shocks me is New England is only a 7 point favorite at home,l Texans played them tough last year, if a Texan db didn't drop an int they would have beat them.

It’s a sucker bet

Browns are Home.

Bills are on the road.

6 points sounds about right considering our QB situation on the road against a formidable D. I'd take the Bills and the under.

Actually seems generous to the Bills.

Will absolutely need to shield Edmunds somehow. He is a pile diver and gets fooled easily right now. Good luck.
