Bills are Now Out of the Spotlight

They were starting to fade over the last few weeks and now I think the spotlight will officially shift to the Dolphins in our division. I think this will be a very good thing because for some reason or another, they just seem to crumble when everything is going perfectly.

It’s time for the players and coaches to hit reset and reassess their goals. They need to concentrate on winning the division and figure out home-field and everything else that follows after that.

Let’s forget about all the commercials, all the trash talking, all the double digit pointspreads and get back to basic football. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just get out of the building with a one point victory.

Same thing happened last season, the spotlight quickly moved to the Pats.

This division could really wind up being a 4 team race, like the AFC West was supposed to be.

I appreciate the irony of us all cheering on the brutal path for KC in the AFCW, only for our division to become the juggernaut.

Good times.  Just amazing stuff.

They aren’t crumbling, it’s a long season. Every team has ups and downs.

Couldn't disagree with you more.  Miami will get a lot of talk, but the Bills will still be talked about throughout the season and playoffs.

Bills need to hope the high draft picks they've spent on defense start to pay dividends because the lack of weapons on offense and bad oline play is starting to look worse and worse.

Totally agree, the Defense will be fine when some of the injured players come back but our office is getting worse by the week.

Typical luck for us. We were supposed to be on top of a dumpster fire whilst the four in AFC West destroyed each other. Instead it’s the other way round. It’d be nice if we had three dreadful teams to face annually like the Pats at their peak.

If dolphins and jets win next week and the bills lose, they are in third place

Jets are on bye next week. Bills can go ahead a game with a win against the Vikings.

Dolphins may be in the spotlight but eventually they will play a team they can't beat up on and move out of it. Allowing Justin Fields to carve you up for 32 points is indefensible.

This seems like something that is largely just in fans' heads. Commercials and stuff were filmed before the season. Podcasts are just conversations they have in their free time. Players give zero ***** about point spreads.

The struggles are injury-related, scheme-related, execution-related against talented teams that are giving the Super Bowl favorites their best shot.

We shouldn't act like the team suddenly lost focus because they're getting attention, which they've gotten since last year...the last two years even.

In fact, these are the same types of struggles we've seen every year and it's more just part of the game, the ups and downs of a season, than it is a lack of focus.

You really think these guys have lost sight of the actual goal? Seriously?

I do not think they have lost focus but I do think that they believe they can just flip a switch and throw 50 yard bombs to get back into the game whenever they want. That is not how this game works And defenses are starting to realize it. Defenses are playing them differently and if they don’t adjust, they won’t even win the division.

What do you think the players and coaches goals were prior to this game that need to be reassessed? I'd be surprised if it wasn't winning the division and figuring out home-field and 'everything else' that follows after that.

I heard he was all systems go. Cleared. Practiced. No problems. They made him a healthy scratch suggesting he’s ready but they decided against it. Jag off.

You made a good point, but I'd be careful about the last sentence, especially when replying to a moderator.

It’s a long season with 9 more games. This game represents the clunker we knew our guys had in them. Now we will see if the Bills are the team the national media anointed as SB favorites. The coaching staff and players have to come out next week with fire and win a game. It’s go time.

And they probably will. They'll probably go on a run like they have in the past. They'll probably have momentum going into the playoffs like they have in the past. They'll probably be considered one of the best teams in the league, like they still are right now and have been in the past.

Woah, big surprise, right?

And fans will act like it's some kind of new development when it's not.

"It must've been because the spotlight was taken off them!"

Yeah? Really?

In my eyes, injuries is the real storyline right now. Pretty much the only true storyline. That's the actual struggle these players are going through. Not focus.

Where does the doubt come from that they won't adjust? I don't understand it.

Can I be clear that the spotlight is not determining what wins and losses come to this team. I am saying that it will probably be good for the team and the fans if all the hype is focused elsewhere for a few weeks.

It would also be nice if Dorsey was watching the Chiefs game right now and would start figuring out how to get some quick releases off to our secondary receivers.

This team trounced the rams and the titans when they were 99% healthy.

I hate to say the health of this team is everything.

The Rams game has lost its luster with them being 3-5. They've beaten 3 good teams. KC, barely; BAL, barely and TEN.
