I am loving the reports of the defense stepping up so far.  Dont get me wrong I love offense, but the bigger weakness coming into this season was our defense.  They were good last year, but they didn't have the edge to them where you felt you could count on them in big moments or against better teams.  Looking forward to seeing this unit tested out the gate against the Rams offense.

I characterize last year’s D as good but far from dominant. And I think that’s just the nature of McFrazier’s schemes more than anything else.

I don't know if I agree with it being a scheme issue.

It's really hard, in todays NFL, to have a clutch/dominant Defense - especially against elite QB's - without a reliable pass rush.

Replace Hughes or Addison with Von last year and we are the reigning Super Bowl Champions.  That Defense, even without Tre, isn't getting torched by Mahomes evading pressure all day.

This year will be the test.  We have a legit pass rushing DE, a solid interior rusher in Oliver, and maybe we have something in AJ or Rousseau.  This D should be scary in obvious passing situations.

He said Allen went down and got back up? I think we are too critical of Thad sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️

We learned early on to couch the news in a certain way, like “everything turned out fine, but you’re not going to believe what your son did at school today”. It heads off that sinking feeling of terror in your gut. “It’s ok, alright, tell me the rest”. But that doesn’t get as many clicks, I guess.

I Heard you have soak in tomato juice. Thats some deep stank.

That works some with skunk spray, but the Jets are in another league all together. Worth a shot I guess. Nothing to lose but some tomato juice!

Eff Dawson Knox…I want to draft a TE high next year…

Isn’t Knox like the 4th or 5th best TE in football?  How much better can they get?  It’ll have to be a first round pick and probably not where the Bills are picking.

meh, dude was a stud last season. Not worried.

We’ve been so starved for good TE play that we think last year he was a stud…compared to other TE, though, he was solid, but nothing special imo

The most TE dependent of the top 15 TE's in the NFL last year...but he did have some big TD's for the Bills in the playoffs. He is in his FA year...so he needs to produce or they move on. Of more concern to me is the zero mentions of anything OJ Howard has done on the field. Zero.

Knox has a flaw he has stone hands he’s a terrific athlete and not a bad blocker also will make amazing catches but he has a flaw he drops easy passes.
Now you know why he loves to play with Allen. Josh makes anyone look good certainly not Vice Versa.

If OJ Howard is a bigger concern then you’re expectations for him were higher than they should be.

He’s mediocre.

I feel like Howard is a guy who just goes through the motions to collect a paycheck….no killer instinct

lol, you're nuts.

Super raw prospect who transitioned to TE (a position that notoriously takes a lot of time)  from QB when going to college and had very little college production behind Metcalf and Brown.

I'm sure you were just invested in calling him "stone hands" prior to last years breakout and are still ready to be "right."  He's done nothing but improve and is a TD machine who seems to shine in the big moment.  It's crazy to want to move on.

Knox has the hardest time consistently catching a football more than any other receiver on the team…that will always hold him back from becoming elite, if he can’t figure something out…

He had minimal drops last year and made a ton of clutch grabs for us.  Looks like he needs to go back to the catching exercises he was so focused on last offseason.

He had a 69% catch percentage last year- higher than Kelce.  And his career playoff catch % is 75% to go along with 4 playoff TD's.

He's a rising star at the position.

Yeah but people tweeted about two times he dropped passes in camp so far, sure no one has said he's been having problems with drops in camp, but clearly we should just focus on those two moments.

When you have a history of it, that’s what happens…I’m sure Diggs drops 1 every now and again in camp, but it’s not a big deal because it’s not what he’s known for…

Yeah, I don't recall once being concerned about Knox's drops last season, at any point. Looks like he had...4. that seems pretty standard. It was a story in 2019, less of one in 2020.

When I think about Knox last year, first thing that comes to mind is that spectacular catch he made in the playoffs against New England.  No idea how he managed to grab the point of that ball and still have the awareness to come down with his toes inbounds in the corner of the end zone.  That was a 9.5 in terms of difficulty.

Last season, Including post season, (11) that’s eleven TDs scorned by Knox, what the H else are we looking for? The goal is to score points right? Compare that to TDs scored by other TE last season, just sayin, 😁👍 Knox is right up their league wide

In practice maybe, but he made some really clutch catches in games last season.  Remember the one Josh thought he was throwing away?  I think he moves to an elite level this season, and I am happy he bought a house in Orchard Park.

Totally agreed. There was a lot of chatter on this board a few years ago about drafting him, but he’s done literally nothing his whole career. I’m glad we gave him a shot but I’m not particularly invested.
