Buftex
If anyone is interested: The NFL Network will air the 1993 AFC Championship game between the Chiefs and Bills, today (Friday- 1/22) at 3pm eastern. Not only is it the last AFC Championship game the Bills were in, it was one of Thurman Thomas' finest games. Some good time-killing content, before Sunday! Also, the excellent "Four Falls of Buffalo" will air at 1am (Saturday 1/24). Edited January 22, 2021 by Buftex 1 1

I heard it referred to, on the radio, as Montana's last game, and assumed it was true. But you are correct. 18 minutes ago, BuffaLoko said: 4 Falls.... what? 🤨who gives a... we are rising NOW is a new dawn, is a new day ... and I´m feeling ... goooood (in Nina´s voice)🤗 Yeah, I understand, everyone is not fond of reminiscing. That is legit. But I am always a sentimental old fool, when it comes to the Bills. It is all one long story.
timekills17
Let's see, 3pm Eastern Standard Time equates to about 9pm here.... Oh who am I kidding? My VCR just blinks 00:00, like I'm going to figure how to set the timer right anyway. I'll just put my tape deck next to the TV speaker and record the audio.

Why, because the picture sucks The cool thing about VCRs is you can record whatever you want and retain a hard copy of it forever. OK, so the picture quality isn't the best, but for certain things that doesn't matter. Back in 1991 when Desert Storm started, I threw a blank video tape in the VCR and recorded the various networks and CNN for all 6 hours....then did it again for Tapes 2 and 3 over a week or 2 period. I still have all 3 of them in my library and those things are like a golden treasure of history now, at least IMO. It helps if you have an interest in history and in particular, military history.

RiotAct
could you imagine TV announcers nowadays talking about a concussion like Trumpy, Enberg, and O.J talked about Joe Montana’s? They’d probably get banned from the networks, social-media shamed, fined... 😂 1

Punching Bag
I'd record on VCR (yes I still have one) but Verizon changed all video to digital for better quality (not) which by coincidence means only recording you can do is on a rented Verizon recorder and when you stop Verizon service you lose everything you record.
TPS
I was at that game, and what I will always remember is how the fans stayed for some 15-20 minutes (maybe longer?) after the game cheering and hollering to acknowledge what an incredible feat it was for the Bills to make it to their fourth straight Super Bowl appearance. What an incredible atmosphere it was!

I probably wouldn't want to watch it right now...but when it originally aired, I thought it just recaptured that whole magical 4 year run (really a 6 year run for me) beautifully. I got over the fact that they didn't win any SB's a long time ago. It was just an amazing time to be a Bills fan. This season is much the same...and it just came out of "nowhere" in some ways. I knew we had a good team to cheer on...but they have far exceeded my hopes and expectations.

True story 😂 For me it was the old music show "Night Flight", and then episodes of David Letterman's original daytime show. My family had the first VCR of anyone that we knew...I was the only one in my family (8 kids, 2 parents= 10) who could figure out how to program it to record. I remember my father setting his alarm to get up at all odd times of the night to get up and press "record" when a movie he wanted to watch would come on. Then he would just stumble back to bed. I tried showing him...and my siblings. They just didn't get it...it was my super-power for a year or two!

Motorin'
Just turned it on to see Bill Brooks and Kenny Davis both score TD's, only to both be ruled down at the 1 inch line. Instead of going up 14, they bring Christie in to make it a 10 point lead. Both of those plays would have ben over turned as TD's today.
