Ben is old and banged up. His body AND arm need the rest, and Tomlin knows the odds are in favor of the bills winning anyway. That factors in huge.

We should play guys who feel good, and rest anybody who is banged up.

keep the ball rolling.

I'd love to sweep the Division this year and knock the Dolphins out as well.

Maybe play our guys the 1st half and then see what happens.

I think this is tremendously good news.

The Browns HAVE to win, they will likely beat a Mason Rudolph lead team.

It makes sense for the Steelers to rest Big Ben, they prorpbaly assume we wil beat the Dolphins so not point in trying to win, he looks like he needs it badly.

I don't think he took real good care of himself between the surgery and the Covid inactivity period.

Means we can rest guys too, and still lock up the #2 seed!

So does that mean the stinking fish fans are celebrating right now ???
man I would chew my own finger off for our backups to beat Miami ,

Why would Tomlin even announce this so early? Makes no sense...

Because folks are going to figure it out when Ben is scratched from practice all week and Rudolph is getting 1st team snaps. Might as well get out ahead of it so there is no controversy.

Only if the Steelers lose, it’s still up for grabs.

The Bills can beat ANYONE they'll face in the playoffs... but anyone of those teams can beat them too. I'd only give better odds to the Chiefs... and the Ravens. Because styles make fights, and the Ravens run heavy offense is obviously a bad match for the Bills D. Though at least the Bills O can outscore them.

? lame. he hurt his knee against washington

So the Steelers are breaking the rules by not disclosing that injury during week 16?

Ok, sure.

No one has ever confused him with Tom Brady or Drew Brees when it comes to workout regime. He is rowing in the same boat as Jerome Bettis, who was always reported "to be in the best shape of his career" every year for the last 5 or so years of his career.
