Houston better give this guy a pink slip before he COMPLETELY destroys that organization. He's getting close to it now. The one guy left I could see wanting no parts of that place would be Watson and if it comes to that they will be bottom feeders like the Browns/Lions were for a long time. Personally, I enjoy seeing other organizations destroyed. 1

Call_Of_Ktulu
Hopkins is very good but what if he wanted some astronomical contract like 5 years 150 mil. I could see the Texans trading him for what they did. I think Michael Irvin needs to be fired if anything that he said about O’Brien is not true. Billzgobowlin
I am in no way defending Bill O'Brien but I'm not sure the whole story is out there. If this is all there is to the story I think that would be highly inappropriate and unnecessary

Rocbillsfan1
Bill o brien is an idiot but honestly glad we didn’t trade for Hopkins and got diggs. Where there is smoke there is fire. Hopkins is most likely a head case like a lot of prima Donna wrs. Sounds like the Hernandez comment could have been taken out of context but Hopkins will now be quick to save face as well and throw shade at bill on the way out. If anything he should have just moved on and been a man about the situation. He got out of Houston and should be happy.

Who else can see the dude getting fired today and the trade not consummated? I honestly had that thought right after the trade. And now seeing this ***** come out. The owner could save face by firing that moron and canceling the trade. Won't happen tho.

Hopkins has been a stellar performer ever since joining the league. Many teams will try and poison relations with a player they know they can't sign so as to frame it as the player being the problem in an effort to appease fans. Bill O'Brien is not only incompetent, he's a complete Ahole with a side order of racist. 3

The AH comment could have literally been how it was presented- "last time I had this kind of chat was with AH" stupid, but not certainly comparing him to AH. As for the baby mammas, It's a commonly used term and if DH had women coming around the facility that were causing problems it would make sense to address- though the use of the term in that context was again probably unwise. Not saying this is how it happened, but Hopkins being willing to play it down says a lot, I also wouldn't be shocked to see Irvin take something to a higher level than necessary.

blacklabel
To me, O'Brien seems like the last of a dying breed of those type of hard-nosed coaches that do the "my way or the highway" BS, and that stuff just doesn't fly in today's NFL. I'm not sure what some coaches don't understand about that. If you go out there and don't bother to find ways to best connect with your players, then your players are gonna tune you out pretty quick. People can bang on culture all they want but that's something I really appreciate about McDermott. He takes the time to find the best ways to reach his players. That shows that he truly cares, from the practice squad guys all the way up to the ones, he makes everyone feel respected and important. O'Brien probably just makes you wanna slap the butthole right off his chin.

Amazing to me. At the trade deadline BOB is gonna trade Watson to NE then when he gets fired at the end of the year he’ll have a job waiting for him! Yes but when you open the meeting invoking AH? What are you supposed to take from that? Edited March 18, 2020 by PromoTheRobot
