McD said yesterday that he is impressed and comfortable with Ford at RT in Ty's absence. Whether or not they choose to have another combination at that spot (Bates I assume) remains to be seen. So no, I don't believe we are in "trouble"

D. L. Hot-Flamethrower
They should be able to scheme some to help him with Chubb out. I don't see it as an enormous problem until it is. Honestly, I would worry more with him playing full time snaps into the fourth quarter and playing from behind. Getting ahead and running the ball late, with Ryan Bates perhaps getting a series or two, may not be the worst idea. Edited November 19, 2019 by D. L. freester
Ford is not a RT. He will struggle and force us to line up a TE to help him block. Get ready for more Lee Smith.

JoshAllenHasBigHands
Ford has played more snaps than people appreciate, and he has done better as the season has progressed. Ford will struggle against Miller, every tackle in the league does, but he will hold his own.
BeastMode54
I know that people are quick to write him off, and I'm no football expert other than watching the Bills games and playing in high school, but some lineman take a while to develop. There are some that come in right away and are beasts. He seems to be coachable and I'm hoping he improves. I feel like he was mentioned on here a lot more negatively early on, but maybe I haven't been paying attention. Just like Allen, you need to give these guys time. I can''t say he's been a game changer, by any means, but I wouldn't write him of just yet, as some seem to have done already

Not that much of a problem imo, Bates will be there to help out, as will be other guys, Coach understands the circumstances and will adjust accordingly. With the pressure amping up as we get closer to the post season everyone will need to up their respective game. I feel confident in the teams ability to adapt. Go Bills!!! bigK14094
Sharing the work at tackle was a good idea for a rookie. But, its 10 games in now, and he isn't so much a rookie anymore. Still, the question is fair and the result is TBD.

auburnbillsbacker
I think so. The Bills play in a lot of close games. 1-2 extra missed blocks could be the difference between winning and losing.

Capco
Von Miller will destroy Ford at times during Sunday's game, and people will be grabbing their pitchforks without realizing that he makes most tackles look like fools. Overreactions aside, it's still something that concerns me considering what we've seen from Ford so far. I do think he will get better but he's not there yet imo. H2o
I am thinking we may still see a rotation here with Ford and now Bates. Bates showed fairly well in the preseason no matter where they seemed to put him. I think they have faith in the young man. He hasn't been active because it wasn't deemed necessary until now.

I think people just assume Ty has completely taken over because Ford didn't play against Washington. That hasn't been the case. He played against Cleveland and Miaimi, and he did just fine. He is getting there. But you are right, he will struggle mightily and give up sacks to Miller. That, however, is not an indictment of his play.

Johnny Hammersticks
McD should move Morse to RT, Ford to LG, Feliciano to LT, Dawkins to C, and Spain to CB to cover those bigger WR’s for Wallace. That would be way better.

FLFan
When the Bills played Denver in 2017 they had a good game plan and Jordan Mills, with some help, handled Vonn Miller pretty well. Jordan Mills. Ford had been playing much better and will be fine on Sunday. 2
Hapless Bills Fan
I guess my first question is: do we have any word about Nsehke's injury yet? Yesterday McDermott was "still undergoing tests, too soon to tell", which actually doesn't sound like a broken bone to me. If it's broken, you can usually tell immediately on x-ray. I would assume he's out for Sunday regardless but do we actually know yet if he's lost for the season? 3 minutes ago, FLFan said: When the Bills played Denver in 2017 they had a good game plan and Jordan Mills, with some help, handled Vonn Miller pretty well. Jordan Mills. Ford had been playing much better and will be fine on Sunday. Thank you for the reminder. I hope you are right! PS elsewhere, people asked if it was possible that LaAdrian Waddle might be eligible to return from IR. His injury was a torn quad, and at the time was announced as "season ending". The fact that they reached that conclusion so quickly might imply it is a Grade III tear with predicted "8-10 month" recovery time. Even if it is Grade II with "2-3 month recovery time", the fact that he would need to restrict activity for 2-3 months seems to make it unlikely he would be in shape to return
