Bferra13
Peace out. You missed the boat on Vegas and L.A. and Toronto doesn't have a stadium. Jerruh has San Antonio blocked. Brianmoorman4jesus
A team in London with hopefully 8 games per season at 9:30am would be great. I’d like to see those fans get a team. They seem to be into it. I hope it happens.

I don't know how you can put a team in London because they will never be able to get around the travel trouble for all 8 of their away games, and then the 8 teams that have to go play in London will be at a disadvantage relative to all other teams in the league who do not play London. You're talking about losing a day of the preparation week just traveling, not to mention jet lag/time zone shifts. For me those are fundamental problems that can't be overcome. HOWEVER, money usually wins out in the end and there is no doubt the next big thing in pro sports, internationally, is going to be sports trying to sell themselves in non-traditional markets. The NFL would LOVE to become huge in Europe, if it could.

Virgil
I want to see them move to London just because I want to see how it works out for the league. How will FA's view signing to play there. How much of a fit will west coast teams throw having to make that trip? But overall, how will England embrace having a team and what would it do for overall viewership? I think it's something they should try in Mexico as well.
Brianmoorman4jesus
I think the London works if you go 4 game home stand then 4 games on the road and rotate that way. I feel like maybe the travel issues are over blown but I’m not pretending to be an expert on it.

There are logistics issues but not of them are insurmountable.

sullim4
I have been doing the west coast/London flight from Seattle a few times a year now. It’s around a 9 hour flight with an 8 hour time difference. I think it’s doable so long as you fly out immediately after the previous game. I usually fly out around 1-3pm, pull an all nighter on the plane and end up in London in the mid-morning. I then stay awake until bed time. You adjust pretty quickly this way and by the third or fourth day are more or less adjusted to the time change.
Beast
London will NEVER get a team. NEVER. The freaking Super Bowl starts at 11:30 pm for those people over there. ComradeKayAdams
I believe their stadium contract is up after the 2029 season, so they'll be free to leave for London as early as 2030. Good riddance, too. Jacksonville never should have been awarded a pro football franchise. It's a terrible fanbase that only cares about college football, NASCAR, cooking meth, and inbreeding during their leisure time. 1

Rochesterfan
The way I look at it - every home game would be like a prime time game if they started at 9:30 am eastern time. They would be the only game on at that time slot every week - giving them a slot all to themselves. I think it would be cool for London, but I hate teams moving. There are a ton of logistical issues, but if they expand to 17 games and add a second bye week you could fix some of the issues. I still think they are a decade away from this being totally solved, but I think Jacksonville wants the London hammer to get other concessions in their stadium deals. That’s why we’re playing the games here in London -- that the community can't support selling out eight games, so maybe there's something else we can do there for the hot-dog vendors, the hotel rooms, all the stakeholders who make a living off the game." It appears what he is saying is that since they cannot sellout 8 games a year (and preseason games) try to get some other events at that stadium. And I thought from reading this forum that the solution to any stadium woes is putting a dome on any stadium and moving it downtown.

This makes no sense - the issues in Jacksonville and Buffalo are totally different. The Stadium in Jacksonville is already downtown and on the waterfront. Jacksonville has a totally different issue getting fans. The Buffalo fan base is getting older and the Pegulas are building up downtown. It makes sense to explore a dome and downtown venue in Buffalo.
apuszczalowski
Is the reason it is so important because he needs to beat the Chargers there? I can't see any European/Asian expansion being viable long term, to much of a travel issue. Teams already have issues with the cross country trips from West to East. Imagine how the west coast teams are going to like going there frequently? I think Jacksonville moves, but it's more likely to another US location or Canada. With the news the last few days of the Jags and Chargers looking at it, I'm sure closer places will start talking to them and making relocation offers to keep them in North America. San Antonio is always one place that comes up, Oklahoma? St Louis again?

Yup, Jacksonville's issue is that the locals aren't really interested in NFL football and supporting a team that's been bad/mediocre most of their existence. It's a college football area. Being down south they have fairly good weather most of the year where being outdoors is an option all year. Buffalos issue is the weather, where outside of football, the stadium is useless for anything else for most likely 6months+ of the year due to the weather with cold and snow.
