I've thoroughly enjoyed not looking at who needs to lose to who at all. It feels good to be 95% sure the Bills are getting in no matter what other teams do.

There are reports in another thread that only a Titans loss is now required . Not sure but pretty cool if true

Just win tonight and remove all doubt.  Don't want to back-in to the playoffs.  Also, lets get the 5 seed and avoid having to play the Pats/Chiefs in 1st round.

you back into playoffs off a 16 game schedule you earn it...win enough games your in

just like "getting lucky" most playoff teams get lucky during the season it may happen in week 3 or week 5 or week 9 or week 11 or week 16

Gruden.

Crazy ending. They had control in FG range up 3 with under 2:00. Inexplicably threw incomplete on 3rd down which stopped clock. Then missed TWO chances at FG ( after penalty on JAX). Minshew drove them down for TD aided by a PF roughing penalty .

Yep. Other teams are losing these games when they had an opportunity. Bills earned their position to this point.

Unbelievable how much help the Bills have gotten this year... I can not recall the last time the majority of games in the league went to the Bills favor.

2017.  I think a win tonight gets us the 5th seed at minimum and the Steelers are likely to get the 6th seed even with a loss considering Baltimore will pry be resting their starters the final game of the season.

Colts are irrelevant. We have the common opponents tiebreak against them and the worst we can do is tie conference record.

Indianapolis cannot jump us.

As I understand it Indy can still win the division at 9-7 and the Texans would beat us out in a tiebreaker scenario so we either need Houston to win one more or the Colts to lose one more coupled with a Tennessee loss.

Colts and Titans both will face the Saints, Colts on the road, TN at home. I don't see NO losing to either team

Yes. Houston can still beat us in a tiebreak. The Colts can't.

It’s such a bills thread to start to figure out the playoff scenarios if we lose out

Nothing wrong with it. Fans want to know what lies ahead. The Bills have a few tough games scheduled in DEC that are bad matchups. Depending what happens the next week or so, they may rest starters vs the Jets if they can’t improve their seeding

Not true. It depends on which game the Titans lose. If against the Texans in week 17, then yes. If it's just against the Saints, then we'll also need either a single Colts loss (they have 3 games left) or a week 16 Texans win.

Another way to look at it, we are Saints fans.  Even if Bills lose all three they make the playoffs if the Saints beat Colts tonight and the Titans next week.

49ers lose to Falcons at the end of todays game.

New Orleans will be fighting for byes.

Nah, it would be a lot more Bills-like if it were an October thread stating how we were just eliminated from making the playoffs.

Maybe it's OUR YEAR - finally!  It's all good when you have a very competitive football team all season.

Sunday Night Football” (8:20 p.m., NBC) was flexed to give us the AFC wild-card battle between the Steelers and the visiting Bills. Buffalo can clinch a playoff spot with a win (and is still alive to catch the Patriots for the AFC East title), and the Steelers are trying to catch the Bills for the No. 5 wild-card berth, which is important since the No. 6 team is probably going to have to face the Chiefs in the wild-card round as opposed to traveling to Houston or Tennessee. This line stood at -1 and -1¹/₂ at most sportsbooks heading into the weekend. The short spread tells us the Steelers are only favored due to home-field advantage and that the Bills are the (slightly) better team. I agree

2017?

I dont really recall two straight weeks of just about every other wild card contender losing, but ok.
