Patrick Duffy
I like the play once in a while to catch defenses off guard, but sometimes I think it's a play that is called a little too much. If I'm not mistaken with the ball getting knocked out today, last week it also happened(if I remember right). Also just a little worried the kid is going to take a bad hit one of these go arounds and get hurt. Now don't get me wrong here, I like the play call once in a while, however (today for sure) I just thought it was called a little too much. What do you think. John Adams
This play should be called once every 3 games. No more.
TroutDog
It’s not an easy call. We don’t work with him every day and know what he can handle. The coaches do. I can tell you that having him run forces D’s to account for him and that’s a positive for us. Is it a gamble? Certainly, but all of football is. DJB
Id rather just pound an RB instead of designed QB runs for 3 yards and exposing Allen to potential injury. Plus Allen picks up way more rushing yards when he improvises and just runs when its an obvious play call designed for him to throw Edited September 22, 2019 by DJB

It's great that defenses have to prepare for it, I just though IMO they kinda wore it out a lot today, but in any event I'm glad it all worked out and very happy with the W.
MDH
I don’t mind it inside the 5-10 yard line but Allen runs enough on passing plays, there is no need to subject him to needless hits calling 3-5 runs a game for him.
BillsfanAZ
I am ok with in a short yardage situation. I am tired of seeing it in normal down and distance.
Wayne Cubed
The QB draw during the 2 minute drill was a head scratcher. I don’t mind it occasionally, as a change of pace but needs to come at the right time.

Big C
The goal line plays are good, the rest not so much. Allen is a better at scrambling, but he is not doing as well with that this year. Sometime he is doing well keeping his eyes down field, but I can't help the feeling that chunk plays are left on the ground on some of those. Patrick Duffy
I think I heard one of the guys say the Bengals D noticed he always carried the ball in the same hand/arm also, so they were ready to take swipes at it and sure enough they managed to knock it out. billsfan1959
Allen seems to be much better on impromtu runs, rather than designed runs. Perhaps because he is reacting much more instinctually - which is more of strength?
BUNCH OF MULARKEY
If they are going to expose him to injury with designed runs , they should save them for crucial situations.
GunnerBill
Too many today. But it was partly because they clearly have a pitch count for old man Gore and they know Yeldon is not a good runner. So they were trying to manufacture run game other ways. They overused both the designed QB runs and the reverses and sweeps and in the 2nd half the Bengals were alive to those plays
Mark Vader
If it's a sweep play, and Allen has blockers in front of him, I'm ok with. When it's a designed run up the middle, that drives me crazy. If they want to use Allen as a runner, fine. Let's not do it so much though.

MtlBillsFan
Get another potent rb that can find holes and we will be ok. At the moment, if one goes down, we are stuck with Yeldon. Not good.

MJS
Let Allen run all day if he wants. It's an effective weapon. Doesn't mean he'll get hurt. QB's get hurt standing in the pocket all the time.

Again, it’s a gamble but when do we begin to trust the coaches instead of thinking arm chair QB’s (us) know more. Food for thought.

I agree they call it more than I would, but after seeing Allen’s ability in person today I see why they try and use it! I don’t like calling it with 1:20 to in the half up 14-0. Why take more chances than you have to with Josh?

Ethan in Cleveland
I'd rather see more naked bootlegs and misdirection QB runs than the one's Daboll has called. Too many bodies flying around. I'd much rather see Allen with a RPO on a naked bootleg. Especially when the distance for a first down is 3-6 yards.
Bakin
Hate them with a passion. As good as Allen is on the run - let him scramble when he needs to. I don’t want to see him get beat up more than needed.
Orlando Tim
The designed runs are a terrible idea- no QB survives getting beat up constantly. They need to keep him as fresh as possible. His tendency to challenge defenders is something they need to stop.
mannc
I like it in the red zone, but that’s it. The frequency that we’re seeing it is an indication that the Bills still don’t have enough offensive weapons. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t draft one of the WRs that were available in the second round this year. There were a lot of good ones there for the taking.
