MJS
Defense is great. Offense put them in bad positions and the defense produced, for the most part.

MAJBobby
Going to be a lot of players that Bills Cut on defense that will be still playing on Sunday. Insane depth on that side of Ball.
Freddie's Dead
This D is seriously legit. Agree with MAJBobby, lots of good ballers will be cut from the D.

JimKellyTryouts
Tremaine had a tough time sticking out on the field in a consistent/empowering way last year, but this game shows how clear his improvements are and that he's poised for a big year. TJ got the better of him on a couple passes, but he was still all over the field against the run and pass

Where that lack of pressure really shows up is in the red zone........that's why their red zone defense struggled last season.

LABILLBACKER
Zero pass rush. Murphy is going to be a deficit. 1
Buffalo Barbarian
Watching the first drive that we gave up a touchdown on we used a lot of man defense and it failed. Not sure if they were experimenting but building a zone team with those type of players and having them run man is asking for trouble.
Miyagi-Do Karate
Defense didn’t seem that great to me last night, to be honest. It was a bit of bend don’t break— Stafford was able to complete a lot of passes and move them up and down the field quite a bit. The D then made some key 3rd down stops, but a few of them were due to Lions receivers dropping the ball.
Fixxxer
The run defense was great, but we lost track of Hockenson via pass in the second quarter and surrendered a TD on a rub/pick route. (Milano) I saw Darryl Johnson playing some with the first unit in the first quarter, nice to see they gave him some oportunities, Mike Love played some in the second quarter at RDE. They are given chances to make the roster. Wallace needs to learn how to tackle, he could have hurt his ribs on that "tackle attempt" on a TE. Otherwise he had a superb recovery that prevented a sure TD. The pass rush wasn't there except on a 4th down play that we were able to pressure Stafford. CSBill
I, for one, was not impressed last night. Yes, they were is some big holes with the turnovers, but they also let Stafford carve them up on that long drive. Basically, the man coverage was terrible, and they did not impress in run defense. Blitzing was another story -poured through the OL, but that’s not Frazier’s forte. Oliver is still learning via hard knocks and I don’t think we’ve seen the best pass rush grouping we may have yet. Beyond the ever-rotating philosophy, I think there’s an idea of who we’d prefer in obvious situations.

Dee-twah did not convert a 3rd down until the 4th quarter. In a regular season game I doubt they would have gone for it on 4th the way they did twice in the first half. Run defense was absolutely fine.

PlayoffsPlease
Very disappointed at series of interviews with defensive players coming off a 6-10 season being seemingly annoyed that they are not being lauded as superstars. That attitude is not likely to lead to playing at a higher level because they "have a chip on their shoulder". If the focus is not on the team winning, but earning individual laurels, then it is likely the team won't be winning.

Orlando Tim
I think they were testing some things last night and it was ugly at times- I think McD looks at preseason similar to Levy as a time to try things and see what happens. One good thing last night was Shaq showed up as an individual on quite a few plays
Happy
The defensive line was not winning 1-1 battles with the Lion's offensive line, giving Stafford way too much time to pass. It looked like the Bills defense left off from last December, rush four, maybe win a 1-1 battle on occasion (resulting in no QB pressure), and put the pressure of pass defensive squarely on the DBs. Completely backward approach; you can't count on the DBs to win at pass defense in a league that clearly favors the offense. Need to get pressure on the QB; McD claims to know this, but does he? I'm not sure what Frazier knows.
