Pats release long time punter Ryan Allen

Allen, 29, likely won’t have much problem finding a new home. He has averaged 45.3 yards per punt in his career, with a 40.4 net average.

He (and the Patriots punt team) has allowed only one touchdown in the past six years.

Okay, but Allen is hardly old at 29, and New England doesn’t exactly burn Punters legs out. This seems like a cap move, and it’s one the Bills should take advantage of. Their punting game is highly suspect right now.

I really just wanted to say zapatos!

It's like Steven Hawking going out on disability for laryngitis....

The joke is the patriots tried to hide Corey Bojorquez on the practice squad without using him in any games.

He didn't even make it through half a season---as a punter!

4 SB's, 3 rings, 13 punts.

Not bad work if you can get it...

Hold on now.  Let's not belittle his importance.

Can't forget having to hold for the PATs.

This actually makes way too much sense to not pick him up. Does he go on waivers or can we just sign him?

This has belichick 4d chess all over it to steal our playbook.

Picking up New England castoffs is probably not a good idea. They don't usually pan out.

New England's castoffs will pan out when I tell them to pan out, for I am the Mayor of Albuquerque!

Least utilized guy on their team.  Maybe they could get away without a punter.

Tom Brady can probably average 50 yards as a punter.  For that matter, he can probably kick field goals reliably while holding for himself.

Let's not go crazy about the field goal part...Gostkowski is pretty good.  Let Tom punt so he can pull a hamstring.
