PetermansRedemption
Nice! This is why most injuries to the OL wouldn’t have bothered me. We have depth everything, except center. Be healthy Mitch Morse. HEALTHY! 7
YoloinOhio
Will be interesting to see if it continues. Both Long and Feleciano are out today, which may have necessitated this

DJB
Excellent! Hopefully provides some versatility and the ability to put our best 5 out there at all times. He might have Pro bowl guard potential
JohnBonhamRocks
I feel Dawkins-Spain-Morse-Ford-Nsekhe with Long and Teller watching Spain holding their helmets ready to go is the best situation.
akcash
I think most people are thinking this... with Morse in there this is our best combination... better than with the lesser guards in there.
Captain Murica
Ugh, Bodine is the only thing I can focus on here. If or when Morse is healthy throw I’m in there and that’s the starting 5 imo.

Might be able to come out 2-1 or 3-0 in those first 3 even with Bodine starting.

akcash
I think Bodine was pretty solid last year. It'd prolly be a lugury to keep him ad a backup center but I think he fits that role pretty good.

I have seem him graded as low as 35th.
Lurker
1 hour ago, YoloinOhio said: To start off practice today Given this quote from Beane in today's Buffalo News, I suspect that's where we'll see him this year. “For a bigger guy, we thought he had enough athletic ability to play tackle,” Bills General Manager Brandon Beane said. “We also think he could definitely slot into guard. I think some people in the league viewed him as a guard only, worried, ‘Was he too big to play out there on the edge?’ That’ll be his biggest challenge, is playing speed.”

Long can do a descent job at center if Morse cant go. I think Mitch will be fine he has had some concussion issues so reason to rush him back in the preseason so why do it. SCBills
Long struggled at C for the Jets after playing pretty well at G for the Redskins. He was also hurt the entire time he played C if I recall correctly. Nsehke is pretty good and it would just seem like a waste to only use him as backup tackle this year. Nothing is stopping Ford from transitioning to RT next year if we so choose.
jwhit34
Howard Ballard played RG his first year then took over for Joe Devlin in year 2. Ended up being a good transition. I could see the Bills doing the same thing with Ford.
aristocrat
Didn’t the cowboys have a guard switch to right tackle after his second or third year? The guy who’s girlfriend got murdered before the draft

Mister Defense
Ford did not look like an NFL tackle in the limited video I watched of him after the draft--too slow, lacking the athleticism a tackle needs. Makes more sense at guard. The more experienced Nsekhe will start at right tackle. It also means that the Bills are back in the market for a right tackle, maybe even before this season. Probable starting Offensive line: LT- Dawkins LG- Spain C- Morse RG- Ford RT- Nsekhe But Ford needs to play better now at guard or won't start this year. billspro
I like this, it seems like the best way to get our best 5 on the field. Ford can be the backup RT if Nsekhe gets hurt. Or if Dawkins gets hurt Nsekhe moves over to LT and Ford to RT. Dawkins Spain Morse Ford Nsekhe gives us the best chance to win

Augie
Put the best 5 out there. If it puts Ford at RG, fine. He can always move to RT next year, or later this year. Maybe this is just contingency stuff at this point. Just put the best guys together and let them get used to each other.

Nskehe will be 34 this season so my point is the Bills are now in the market for long term right tackle. But if Nskehe plays great then, yes, the Bills will be less likely to start looking now. Obviously we hope for the latter scenario.
GunnerBill
I suspect it is temporary. I still see the Bills giving him every chance to show he can play tackle.
EmotionallyUnstable
It's totally possible, injuries aside, a reason for this move is that they want Ford immersed in the scheme, learning what the guard he potentially will play next to thinks, does, feels, etc. 4 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: I suspect it is temporary. In the Embedded series, you clearly see Beane view him as a Taxe when Carolina moves up...they wouldn't abandon it this quickly imo
Johnny Hammersticks
If I were the coaching staff...even if I loved Ford at RT I would want him to learn RG too. Also, I’d like to get Nsekhe as many reps with the 1’s at both LT and RT, as he is likely going to be our swing tackle. I think it’s still Ford’s job to lose at RT.
