Huh - I'm 60 years old and this game - and the way a miracle catch by a journeyman WR saved the season and covered McD's ass for a brutal choke job on his part - was the first thing I think of when I think of his gameday failings. 13s in KC too, obviously, but the Snow game hosting Indy was really inescapable in how bad McD could be.

Right - maybe one that wouldn't require a roster full of 1st round picks on D to put up D numbers. Any idiot can coach an all-star team. Beane has put nearly all the team's investments into the defense and genius McDermott still can't succeed.

This level of unready play in all three phases is a real indictment of McDermott. The decimation of the interior DL is having predictable effects - the rest of these last 2.5 weeks just looks like a really badly coached team.

McDermott is flailing and failing - this really might be his last season.

Simple version of the question: If Sean Payton was available to the Bills would you dump McDermott to get him? I would - even if they had to give up a 1st to close the deal with the Saints.

I think it's legitimate for McDermott to be on the hot seat, though I'd be shocked if he were fired this year. He's a defensive head coach (not the successful trend these days) who (with his GM) put nearly all of their resources into the defense, and though they get to excellent levels of seasonal statistics, they don't look good consistently and against good teams and QBs. Even with all the injuries the D-line by itself had two first round picks playing Sunday, with Tremaine behind them, and White and Elam at CB. They stunk. Meanwhile Allen lines up with literally ZERO 1st rounders around him on offense. Cook and Dawkins are 2nd rounders - everyone else is lower. Want to count the former 5th rounder Stephon Diggs a first round pick they spent - (in lieu of Jefferson - ouch) that's fair Diggs makes ONE - that's it. Part of what that means is I'm less inclined to judge Dorsey even though he left a lot to be desired. He's working with a lot less. Frazier needs to go. As far as I'm concerned he cemented his dimissal with his comment last week that the first Bengals game wasn't enough of a sample size to make adjustments to. Oh really?? They were moving up and down the field against the Bills defense for half a quarter before Hamlin went down - it was pretty obvious there were issues on how the Bills were playing D against Burrow and his collection of 1st and 2nd round WRs. The problem with firing Frazier and not McDermott, of course, is that Frazier is running McDermott's defense. McDermott's already confirmed to have taken over play-calling duties at least once. If they jettisoned Frazier, does anyone think the way the defense is designed would change? But with all the investent, the defense for years has repeatedly shown to be vulnerable to being run over by strong running games AND vulnerable to good QBs picking apart the soft zones. If McDermott's scheme is so good, why does it need so much talent to play perfectly to be any good? Shouldn't he be able to coach up lesser players?? Why the heck do we need two 1st rounders playing CB when we hardly ever line up in man? SO I could totally see Frazier being fired, but he'd be a scapegoat. McDermott is the Marty Schottenheimer of our times. Not a bad coach by any means, but clearly also not a great coach likely to get to a super bowl. They looked exactly the same against Cincy before Hamlin was hurt. He was replaced with a new OC who was the old QB coach and really didn't change that much from the prior scheme, but in fairness to both of them - the team has not invested much at all in the offense.

In other words, he's a troll. Always has been. I like to think I did my part getting him tossed from the BN. Needs to be tossed period. Does he still have a press pass?

There's a team in New England you might consider - they do that for throw backs.

Hopefully that should happen right about as the Bills and Von Millerare ready to more on.

Formerly 2, now 3 of the games are based on where you finished. The two in-conference divisions you don't match with you play the team with the same finish place. That's how NE was playing Indy and later KC nearly every year. The new extra out of conference game is also against a team with the same divisional placement.

This year they need to trade up to make sure the right guy is there. They don't have the roster spots to make use of a bunch of rookies anyway, and we really don't want them starting the season with Dane Jackson and Siran Neal as the starters, do we??

Yeah - this obviously wasn't his idea. Or someone who reports to him he isn't willing to throw under the bus. Would like to see him get more of the advertising love as they see him shine in public. Tell me again why we have to watch Baker Mayfield every 5th ad? Time to add a new State Farm discount I say!!

Not using Davis most of the year might be the single most clearly damning indictment of the coaching staff this season. The guy won the Colts playoff game for them last season - no way in hell he should have been so far down the depth chart. He needs to be the clear #2 next year. I'm going to hope benching Davis was Daboll's idea and we're getting an instant uprgade with his departure!! 😂
