Hmmm top 10 pick vs a 3rd round pick. What is the point in this?

What's the point in where they were picked. Maybin would have been bad in the 3rd round. Therefore the point is they have poor college production.

His lack of production is quite disturbing.

Seems like he was primarily used as a blocker in Ole Miss.  Knox made a statement about that and was frustrated by it, but did what he was asked to do.  I can't imagine he'll be utilized as a Greg Olson type TE in Buffalo.

He’s got some really interesting traits.

He shows good blocking ability.

Seems to have played in a system that almost refused to utilize him.

They needed a tight end, and he’s got some major upside. Tight end is one of the hardest positions in the draft to project to the pro level.

Usually the college guys show they can catch on film but they don’t block enough for pro coaches to feel comfortable. Knox is almost the opposite. He’s shown he can block adequately already. He just needs to show he can be that receiver as well. And he has the athletic qualities to do that as well.

Wonder why no Hakeem Butler love ... we must really like the WR room with the FA signings. .. Below production by Butler kind of outshines Knox's stats

2016 Iowa State Big 12 FR WR 8 9 134   14.9       2 0 0   0 9 134 14.9 2

*2018 Iowa State Big 12 JR WR 13 60 1318   22.0 9 0 0   0 60 1318 22.0 9

Butler finally had a really good QB to work with this past year. I don't care if Butler goes in the 7th, he will be a very productive WR for whomever drafts him.

According to CBS Sports

Dawson Knox TE, MISS

Height: 6-4, Weight: 254

Knox can run, and he helps fill a need in Buffalo as they retool the position. It's another weapon for Josh Allen. Knox was underutilized at Ole Miss, so he could be better in the pros.

A GRADE

Some of you guys are insufferable tbh. The guy is a great pick and great value at 96. People were talking about him going in round 2.

He didn’t have the stats because Mississippi has had QB issues and they have 3 NFL WRs. He was misused by them as well and used as a FB essentially there.

Ran a 4.51 is huge and has plus athleticism. Tons of upside. A more complete player than Jace Sternberger.  Their worst pick has been Singletary but even he isn’t a bad player just might have been early.

Id go:

Oliver A+

Ford A

Singletary B-

Knox A-

Stop stat reading.. my goodness.. The game is played on the field not in stat sheets.

The guy we’re getting isn’t the guy on the stat page. He’s fast, can block and catch, if he’s utilized in the game plan he can be a HUGE weapon.

As the fan of a college program that only sporadically remembers it is allowed to throw to its talented but underused TEs, I don’t even blink at this production.

Your pro-team is the same, but with no talented TEs

He played for a program on probation, his QBs constantly changed, he converted from QB to TE, and he had other talented receivers that attracted plenty of attention from whatever QB was tossing the ball. It's good to draft guys on what they "can" do, and not just rely on what they "have" done.

That's my thoughts as well.

They did it twice this draft, throwing away picks to move up when they didn't need to.

Why do the Bills seem to always hire GM's that throw away draft picks?

96. Buffalo Bills (from Redskins): Dawson Knox, TE, Old Miss

Dawson Knox caught only 39 passes in college and hasn’t caught a touchdown pass since his junior year in high school. But he was underutilized in the Ole Miss offense, which featured the receivers, and the athletic traits suggest he has the potential to be much more than what the box score says.

So weak. Keep trying. Maybe go watch football games. Where does the Ball go I. ole Miss when you have Metcalf Brown and another Draft WR that will be taken tomorrow?

It appears that you are not familiar with what the term “throwing away” means

I like this pick, I mean I really like this pick.  Picked up on him at the combine and wanted him from that point on.  This man will be the starting TE by the time the bye week arrives and will be a huge difference maker by the midseason mark.  MHO

Wow, this guy did not produce.

Other than the very first pick of the draft, I don't think this draft will grade out very well.

He did average 18.9 ypc. That's pretty productive for a TE.
