WR Cole Beasley (Dallas) to the Bills

I like this signing though the price is a little high.  Beasley is a tough player especially for his size.  Real grit and never quits.  He's going to have a rough retirement though with all of the nasty hits he's taken and will continue to take I'm sure.  His brain has taken a beating already.  But he does keep getting back up after each hammering.  Grit.

Assuming the reported $14.4M guaranteed in new Bills WR Cole Beasley's contract is total guarantees (not $ guaranteed at signing).

That (currently) represents the 32nd-highest total guarantee among WRs. Another low-cost veteran at a big position of need for Buffalo.

I'm trying to be positive, but I see the exact same thing. This is a guy that has completely underwhelmed me his whole career.  I'll be honest, when I checked his stats just now I was expecting them to be higher just based on his reputation and name.  He never really had a breakout season.

Why would he need a breakout season ?

He has played alongside Dez, Zeke, and Witten

Hes a solid player who gets it done.   My cowboy friends are pissed

Oh, you mean yesterday before the Morse signing? :)

I will admit choking just a little when I saw the number but he's definitely a good player and center was probably our number one off season need. I'm a little concerned with all the missed time but presumably they feel like he's healthy and will be able to stay on the field. I suspect Paradis would have cost us (maybe not another team) significantly more.

I like the fact Beasley chirped he wasn’t used enough last season before Amari got there, and love the fact he came here because he wants the ball more. That’s the kind of player I want, hungry to make an impact with hard work and not chasing top dollar. And watch how free agency unfolds, he could of gotten more money somewhere else. That dude wanted to be here, and wants to make plays

I really don't understand the thought process behind Zay being gone. The kid made a big jump from year 1-2, he's young and has shown improvement.

Only growth I’ve seen is the number of balls that doinked off his face mask

What a highlight...

The signing is fine, honestly I don't mind it, but for similar money I'd rather we would have just Robert Woods who is three years younger and better in every possible measurement.

I've always hated Cole Beasley because I hate the Cowboys. Beasley doesn't always fill up the stat sheets, but he always finds a way to get wide open at the most key times and I find myself yelling at the TV in anger; "how is this guy always so wide open?"

In other words, I was pretty excited about this news.

Woods wants to live in LA.

Lol They are both considerably better. Let’s just say for the sake of argument they are close. Then fine now we have 4 guys that can play instead of 2. So either way we are good.

I’m a Bills fan through and through, but things like this are why we can’t get over the hump. You need elite players.

I was actually thinking the same thing when going through the John Brown thread...granted Brown is a different receiver than Bob Woods. But good blocker, better route runner, and sure hands. He is currently worth that amount.

I might even say...(don't hold me to this) I would rather have one Robert Woods over both Beasley and Brown.
