Big Turk
2 mind numbing stats: 1) There are only 4 QBs who have thrown at least 3 more INTs than TD passes this season. 3 of them are on the Bills and the other is Jameis Winston who got benched. 2) The Bills are on pace to have 6 TD passes and 26 INTs for the season. The other 31 teams are on pace to average 29 TD passes and 14 INTs

Ronin
To add some additional perspective, the 0-16 Browns last season had 15 passing TDs and 28 INTs. How on earth we've won two games is perplexing. Or perhaps I'm looking at it backwards, how on earth the Browns managed to win none, ... To surpass last season's 0-16 Browns we'd have to average over 1 TD/game and and significantly decrease our INTs.

White Linen
Yet Allen had pretty good games against the Chargers and Vikings. It's pretty clear he was asked to stop doing that. On an absolutely putrid talented offensive team he made things go for a couple of games - which shows me we've got a real chance at a good QB. dave mcbride
My favorite data point this week: the Pats gave up 6 points against the Bills (no TDs) and their defensive DVOA ranking (as per Football Outsiders) declined because the level of competition factors into the equation. It appears that if you give up more than one FG vs. the Bills, you're failing. Edited November 2, 2018 by dave mcbride 1 6
Johnnycage46
Even in light of the lack of offensive talent...its still amazing. You'd think a team would be able to luck into a few TDs here and there but man, nothing is working this year.

It's hard not to keep appreciating something this historic. We most likely will never live to see something this putrid again in the history of football. I don't have a problem with 2-3 threads a day noting the various ways in which this offense is historically bad.

dave mcbride
Every historic offense or defense needs a name: the K-Gun, the 46, the steel curtain, the Tampa 2, the Flex Defense, the Greatest Show on Turf, etc. etc. My vote: The Tecmo Bowl offense.

CommonCents
They should try putting blinders on Nate’s helmet so he can just focus on the middle of the field. That may reduce his turnovers.

Kemp
Management has done a very good job with the defense, so far, but when one team has the worst group of QBs AND the worst group of receivers, ya ain't gonna win much.
Fadingpain
I've mentioned it in other threads as well, but have a look at our 1971 stats. Arguably the worst season in Bills history. At the halfway mark of this season, we are on pace to be worse than 1971 in terms of point differential. We were -210 in 1971 (14 game season). We are currently -113. Our opponent on Sunday, the Bears, are currently +50. Edited November 2, 2018 by Fadingpain

BillsVet
Imagine scoring less than 200 points and giving up 400. That's 84-85 Bills territory there for a 16 game season. Only by 2. But consider, the Browns' rate of INTs last season was 4.9% whereas ours is 5.4%. Also, contrast that with Cleveland's TD% last season was 2.6% and they had 15 TDs to our pace for 6 and our TD% of 1.2%. Should be an interesting 2nd half of the season to be sure, and not in a good way.

Yeah but the NFL was much different then.........MUCH less parity..........no salary cap to even rosters out.......smart teams could hold star players in perpetuity and stash developmental players for years on end.......all those guys end up getting re-distributed in free agency now. There was an excuse then. There isn't now. What we are seeing now in an era of high powered offenses is awe-inspiringly bad offense from the Bills.
