Jerome007
Man that dude was awesome! But he really played bad in these 2 playoff games. I suspect an injury as otherwise he's been so good.

Chicagobills
Poyer was playing thru injury. He put it all on the line for us. Wish we would pay him to keep him here 2 1 1
Playoffs?
Poyer is a warrior. He will be missed as one of the heartbeats and leaders of this team. 4 7
billieve420
Dude gave it his all and played hurt. It was a pleasure watching him play and Poyer will be missed. However, I don’t believe the Bills will be able to keep him barring something drastic like Hyde retiring. I fully expect to only see 1 of them back with team next year. 3

bills6969
Really missed watching him and Hyde in the secondary this year. One of the best safety duos in the NFL. 4 2
GoBills!
Nothing but respect for him and his dedication especially after he got sober. He deserves whatever the market pays him. We saw his talent when with the browns and paid him. He's earned 23 million here after being cut from eagles and not resigned by the browns. Great 6 years here I hope he plays another 2-3 but he is a tackle machine and his body wont allow that much longer, thank you for a great 6 years. Cheers! 4 3
Franco_92
Love you All-Pro Po I remember posters here telling each other to not take this budding young safety duo for granted back in 2017, because it is rare for two guys that age to get together and gel like that. I took it to heart and was grateful for every play they were back there. We are already at the end, it looks like. So sad we couldn't get them a ring together. But so grateful they helped raise this franchise from the bottom of the sea. 2 1

Jerome007
Poyer-Hyde never let a receiver all alone past them. It's crazy how they've been good. So sad to see it didn't pan out this year.

loveorhatembillsfan4life
Poyer and Hyde have been the rock in the backfield for so long it’s really too bad they couldn’t accomplish the ultimate goal together. Kind of wierd that Poyer may have played his last season here without Hyde and next year Hyde is back possibly without Poyer. Id love to have him back at the right price but can’t break the bank given his age.

I'd rather focus on getting your franchise QB as many weapons and protection as possible then worry about the defense. That card didn't work. We've spent so much draft capital and money on defense only for it to let us down year after year. I'd rather focus on outscoring teams. 10 pts at home....Inexcusable.

MasterStrategist
1 minute ago, Awwufelloff said: Hes gone. Not worth the money to bring back. Need more speed. Nailed it. Even in 2020 and 2021, this defense was not "Championship caliber". That's not solely Poyers fault, but we definitely need more speed and aggressive players across that defense. You stop top flight offenses with speed/tough/physical defenses. Right now, there's probably 3-4 in the NFL: 1. 49ers 2. Philly 3. Dallas 4. Ravens We need an identity on both sides of the ball... we have some good players, just not sure their skillsets "mesh". But that's a different topic... I will miss Poyer as well, and grateful for the leadership, toughness and dedication he brought to the team. Just think he's past his prime/too much of an injury risk, for us to try signing long-term...we need to retool on defense.
Ethan in Cleveland
This will sound awful but it is a business. Hopefully these last two weeks will drive down the market for his services and we can get him back on a decent 2 or 3 year deal. He was playing hurt. Safeties are just not that valued by most teams especially old ones. Best case scenario he is back in Buffalo on a reasonable contract. More likely he is gone. Jerome007
To the "fans" already wanting him gone. Yeah with the salary cap, you don't overpay an aging safety, that's true. So he'll likely go elsewhere because he choses to, if he has a better offer. But tell us, you sages, who outplayed him on the roster? No one. Sure this defeat sucks a lot, but before you fire everybody, recall we need first to find replacements for the players and coaches you want out! They are not all lined up on a shelf just waiting to be picked up! Edited January 23, 2023 by Jerome007
