There are other investments not paying dividends. Von is out. Micah is out. Hamlin is out. Elam hasn’t panned out. Bernard is nil. Tre isn’t healthy yet. Poyer hasn’t been healthy all year. Ish happens. Just because we invested a ton on defense it doesn’t mean the D still can’t be hampered enough to get torched. what do you propose we do if the d gets torched and we get eliminated in the playoffs? The other choice would have been to stick with week 18 and then play Bengals-Bills the following Thursday (12th January). Then push Wildcard weekend back to 14th/15th ensuring the Bengals and Bills do not play - should they have to - on Saturday night.
