78thealltimegreat
Now after we have had time for the hot takes who had the worst loss yesterday. Gotta go with the Chargers a few people Shannon Sharpe included picked them to the Super Bowl. Even with Herbert hurt losing 38-10 to the Jaguars at home this board would have a meltdown. If that happened
bmur66
I don't think I have ever seen a worse loss than the Bills yesterday. There have been much more meaningful losses but this one was really tough. I'm still not sure what the heck I watched. Never seen anything like it. The Chiefs lost to a winless Colts team. The Broncos, who spent a boatload of money on a QB this off-season lost 7-5 to SF. All of those are much worse than losing to a hungry divisional opponent on the road, in the heat, and with an unreal amount of injuries. I think the Chiefs and Bills will be OK. The Chargers and Broncos have serious questions. 2 minutes ago, GolfandBills said: Bills by far.. their depleted roster got even more depleted with another big AFC game looming this coming Sunday Outside of Bates and Kumerow, the guys that left the game yesterday were due to heat. They'll be back next week. Morse, Poyer and Oliver were close to going this week so they’ll probably be good after an additional week. We’ll be OK.
Ya Digg?
I think the other 2 had rougher losses than the Bills. Divisional games are always tough. The Chiefs lost to a Colts team that had showed nothing the first 2 weeks and the Chargers losing by that much at home to the Jags shouldn’t happen to a team that is a supposed Super Bowl contender. Both of those teams also had extra rest and days to plan for their games
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
The Bills played with half of their starters completely out and missing parts of the game due to heat exhaustion. KC lost to the Winless Colts Chargers Jags? No idea.
timekills17
4 minutes ago, GolfandBills said: Bills by far.. their depleted roster got even more depleted with another big AFC game looming this coming Sunday Even if true - and I think most of the additional depletion you speak of was temporary/heat exhaustion, not injury/long-term - 'm not sure it answers the question. I'd say the Chiefs loss was less expected and raises more questions about the team due to the poor offensive showing than did the Bills' loss. However, the Bills was against a conference *and* division opponent, so that is critical. If the Dolphins end up playing well ala the Pats last year, this game could make a difference even in the AFCE race. (I don't think it will, but from a "how important a loss" perspective, it could be.)
Low Positive
OP should have added the Broncos to this list. They were supposed to be a QB away from contention. They spent a lot of money to get a QB, to whom they’re now tied to for a long time. Yesterday they lost 7-5 at home. Let’s ride! edit: I was wrong. I didn’t make the end of the game. Apparently the Broncos made a heroic comeback and all is right in Broncos Country. Let’s Ride! SCBills
Chargers, but that was far less surprising than the Bills or Chiefs losing. People can say they believe in the Chargers.. but they don’t. Bills had the most understandable loss, but we really need to see what the injury list looks like this week, because that was a brutal game for a team that can’t really withstand many more games like that.
BuffaloBaumer
KC loss was very similar to the Bills (minus the injuries). Kielce dropped a gimme td and they missed an easy fg. KC should have won and they are still the team to beat. The Chargers, wow, that was bad. Buffalo healthy, best team in nfl by far.

y2zipper
The bills loss is one that I kind of get. They lost way too many offensive lineman during the game and it looked like a team with a bunch of guys that hadn't played together and came up short because of it. With the chargers injuries are playing a huge role there too. La was basically down five pro bowlers during the game yesterday and didn't have a very good showing. I also don't think the chargers are particularly well coached this season. I mean I think San Francisco and Vegas took the roughest losses yesterday.
zow2
I’d say the Bills, but every Buffalo loss seems to be a close game and excruciating ending. So i’ll say the Chargers. They were definitely a chic pick to go far in the AFC playoffs, as they have Herbert and supposedly a stacked defense. Big disappointment so far.

Southern_Bills
Chiefs imo. Mahomes was having words with the OC and had to be calmed down by the HC. Showing dysfunction on a team with so much continuity isn't good. At least the Bills lost as a team, it was a tough loss no doubt, but it isn't the end of the world. Just need to get healthy.

Brianmoorman4jesus
The chargers are not good. Idk why people keep insisting on throwing them in with these big teams. Can they at least make the playoffs sometime first? It’s so aggravating. Herbert is good, I’m not saying he’s not…but man people want to make this guy great so fast. If he’s one of these elite QBs, why do they barely score and hardy win? Let these guys do something before we say they are good please. Rc2catch
Depending on injuries I say the Bills loss was worse if they lose more players long term. But the Chargers are playing a dangerous game with Herbert, lost Bosa yesterday, and got blown out at home. So they probably deserve it more. There was a game last season, that if we won, we would’ve been hosting the AFC championship game.. but instead, our defense couldnt hold for 13 seconds. The loss we experienced yesterday was just a loss in the grand scheme of things. Yeah it sucks, and sucks more because it’s the dolphins, but if we can somehow get and stay healthy, we’ll be fine. At one point Bills offensive line featured 4 backups, including a 3rd string C with 2 players in positions they never played before. - Kumerow hurt an ankle early in the game(1st or 2nd drive I think) and was out for the remainder of the game - Christian Benford was limited to playing ST only with a huge club on his hand which pushed rookie PS call up Jamarcus Ingram into action for most of the 2nd quarter onward. Likely will miss some time or be playing with a club on D. - Spencer Brown left the game with a heat related illness - Greg Van Roten(backup Center) left the game(heat maybe?) - Roger Saffold left the game, not sure how much time he missed or if he came back in - Diggs was in and out due to cramps much of the last 3 drives and was ineffective even when he came back in for a play. - McKenzie same as above although not as serious as Diggs - Knox same as above...Quentin Morris played much of the 4th quarter and made some nice plays. At one point we had backup TE Quentin Morris, FB Reggie Gilliam and RB James Cook as WR on the field at the same time due to people out with cramps and injuries...

Virgil
1 - Chargers - For the amount of moves and money paid this off-season, they have high expectations this year and losing another game, especially how they did, has to be concerning for the entire season 2 - Chiefs - Another team with high expectations, playing in a tough division, chasing a 1 seed. Losing to the winless Colts while relatively healthy is inexcusable. 3 - Bills - Whether it be injuries, heat, or playing a hot team, we know that wasn't the same Bills we are going to see all season. Excuses aren't worth much, but we have the most of them.

dpberr
Chiefs. No adjustments made. Colts didn't blitz Mahomes. He was blitzed just twice. They usually gash a Gus Bradley defense and he changed up the script and the Chiefs didn't counter. I think a Doug Pederson coached Jaguars team is dangerous. While Carson Wentz was an un-coachable QB that'd go out there and make the same mistakes every week when he coached Philadelphia, Trevor Lawrence got high marks for being a coachable quarterback, and therein lies the margin of success.
