Bills fact people might not now

Recommended Posts

At one time before the 1985 draft, it was considered in the media that the Bills with the first pick would take Doug Flutie, not Bruce Smith.

Saw a you tube of Bills Steeler 1980 with Ferguson at QB. I looked him up to see if there was any update on his battle with cancer. I knew about his longevity in the league and his 1-3 playoff record.

Little known fact: Bills WR TJ Graham has never been in my kitchen.

From 1974-80, Fergy led the NFL with 120 hung head poses after INTs.   (Jk, I love Fergy and am glad that his cancer is in remission)

A high school teammate of mine went to Tennessee and was there at the same time as Travis Henry.  His locker was next to his as well and things would come up missing.  He told me it was Henry's reputation so he stopped bringing anything valuable like a watch, ring, wallet....

So when Kelly came from the USFL, Bills fans would’ve had Kelly/Flutie debates instead RJ/Flutie debates.

Things that make you go hmm.

Ralph being the genius that he was probably would’ve traded Jimbo away.

Instead he turned out to be an 11th Round pick of the Rams. Thank God Polian intervened and said we should take Bruce instead.

(According to Chris Berman on SportsCenter during the super-bowl run in the early '90s)

There are only 2 major sports teams in North America whose official colors are Red, White and (American) Flag Blue.

Buffalo Bills and Montreal Canadiens.

The Bills lost to the Hamilton Tiger Cats 38-21 in 1961

The big two asterisks is that they played by CFL rules and it was just a preseason game for the Bills. The Bills finished last in the AFL East that year and the Tiger Cats went to the Grey Cup, but lost to Winnipeg in overtime.

The Bills had only been in existence for a year, right?

You must have been watching then Clip Smith's Believe it or Don't. He thought they'd have a Beauty in Doug Flutie.

Weren't the Bills suposed to be the Miami Seahawks originally? But Ralph chose to go to buffalo instead.

It's true Ralph wanted the team to be in Miami. However, he didn't change his mind, he was denied there and settled on Buffalo later.

"After an initial bid to create a team in Miami was denied, Wilson told Hunt, "Count me in with Buffalo."

Polian's decision not to use the first pick on Flutie was made quite simple for him. The reason Flutie went on to not be drafted until the 11th round is because In January he was drafted by the USFL's New Jersey Generals, where, in February, he signed a contract making him the highest paid pro athlete at the time. Two full months before the NFL draft.

Im not debating anything. It’s kind of weird that you got defensive over this

Huge fan of Clipley! Liked him more than Rick Azar.
