RyanTalbotBills
Appreciate the article being shared. I agree that it is confusing as to why Butch Byrd has not been added to the Wall. He was the recipient of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Distinguished Service Award back in 1994, but many of the other winners have also been named to the Wall of Fame. But it won’t look good to celebrate someone that pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct in the same city. Plus the team has its own rumored recent history of misconduct and bad behavior among the administration (who have since been fired). I don’t think you can put Bennett on the wall in 2019. The moment they do, the team will be flooded with complaints from fans, journalists and maybe even sponsors. I think he’ll get on the wall at some point, but that it won’t happen this year I’d agree if OJ wasn’t up there.

In all actuality though, do you think it’s realistic for Bennett to go on the Wall in 2019? I think there would be some major backlash given the off the field stuff that happened in Buffalo year ago. I think it's fair to assume Bennett has a while to wait. He almost joined the Wall a few years back when Van Miller was selected, but I believe that was before the Pegula regime. The article was based solely on on-field performance which is why I had him at No. 1.

It not his fault the rest of the team stunk. It’s not the punters fault, that the best player on the team is a punter. To me, that’s like saying Frank Reich was a good holder. Say what you will about the lack of success on those Bills teams when Moorman was here but they still had some good players who weren’t skinny little guys that kicked a football. Utah John
The biggest drawback to Ron McDole is that he got traded to Washington and got more attention there. I'm pretty sure it was the disastrous John Rauch who sent McDole away. He was a great player and a great Bill. I'd like to see him on the Wall just to lay some claim to him as a Bill. Most people around the country only know him as a Redskin. I'm always amazed that Cornelius Bennett isn't given more props. Someone said earlier that adding him was what turned the good Bills defense into a great defense, and that was right. He got moved to middle linebacker, which was a waste of his natural talent and speed. I don't understand why Hansen is there if Schobel isn't. Schobel was a much better player. Gilchrist is there because he was just so dominating. I think he was the second best RB in Bills history, behind only OJ. He was a PITA and so he got traded but it wasn't for a lack of talent or production. Finally, my top choice is Fred Jackson. The Wall isn't a watered-down HOF, it's for the players who had the most impact on the Bills and the community. Jackson won't ever make the HOF but I have never seen any Bill play with more heart and passion.

947
I love Fred Jackson as much as the rest of this board. Great guy & very solid player, but there is no way he should be considered for the WOF. He only had one 1,000 yard season, scored 37 TDs as a Bill, never made a Pro Bowl, and never played in a playoff game (for us). Biscuit is a no-doubter, 2x DPOY in addition to everything else. Who cares what he did off the field. Byrd & Kyle should be up there. Edited May 30, 2019 by 947

Ethan in Cleveland
In the following order: Byrd Brown Bennett Moulds Williams and Jackson in a few years In that order. Schobel racked up stats and was consistent and underappreciated. I'm just not sure he was every truly dominant. That said he is more deserving than Hansen (see below). Fred Jackson. Great story and in the end he accumulated a lot of yards. He will be on the wall one day and perhaps deservedly so given his commitment to the team during some really bad years. Take down Talley, Ferguson, Hansen, and Ritcher as none of these guys were truly transcendent players. They were all good and played lots of games but never were even close to the best at their position at any time in their careers. Hard to argue they were even in the top 10 at their position when they were at there best. And time to get rid of OJ. His stats will live and he will be in the debate for top 5 RB of all time. But there is no reason to continue to glorify the person. It's not a record book it's a wall of fame.
MJS
Eric Moulds would be sweet. In my opinion, he's the most talented receiver to ever play for the Bills. Kyle Williams will obviously get in. Reuben Brown should have awhile ago. I'm on the fence with Fred Jackson. Heart and soul of the team. Great leader. Best player on a bunch of crappy teams. Great story. But overall as a running back, he was just a little above average. Didn't have great production. Was never considered elite. Not sure he is deserving strictly from his play. Question is, do the intangibles, leadership, etc. bridge that gap? 5 hours ago, Paup 1995MVP said: Terrence McGhee should be given consideration. Was the best kick returner in team history. I completely disagree, though acknowledge I was a little surprised how quickly he was honored. Routinely Drafting as late as #31, the Bills were very good at landing talent. Henry Jones, JD Williams, John Fina, Thomas Smith, Jeff Burris, Ruben Brown and then Moulds. That Hansen was our 2nd Rounder in ‘91 seems to also be in play with this ‘he’s not worthy’ crowd. But he is! All Rookie 1st team, he was thrown into the fire with Bruce’s serious knee injury defending our 1st Conf. Title. He played exceptional -if still overlooked. Every year after, he played better and with more desire than anyone else on the Defense. At least once a game he could be seen swooping in from behind the play to tackle a running back, TE or WR short of the 1st Down marker. EVERY GAME. Usually more than once. Then he made singular game-changing plays throughout his career. Humble & quiet by nature, he rarely got press time, but he was as important to the team throughout his whole career as any other player. He deserves the recognition. I’ll get off my soapbox now. Yes because Jauron had him lining up so wide he was close to the sideline on some plays. He would also put him in coverage when he was virtually the only good pass rusher on the team. These were horrible days for the Bills. He produced quite a bit for us, can you imagine him with good players around him? Hansen had Bruce playing the other side. Schobel had Kelsay.
