Steelers receiver Antonio Brown did not play in the season-ending game against the Cincinnati Bengals because he elected to sit out practice last week after an unspecified heated dispute with a teammate, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has learned.

The disagreement occurred Wednesday morning during a routine walk-through practice that precedes their regular afternoon practice on the South Side. Brown became disgusted and threw a football in anger at one of his teammates, several sources said.

After that, Brown did not practice the rest of the week. According to a source, it was Brown’s decision not to practice with his teammates.

First Bell, now Brown... what is going on in Pittsburgh?

everybody wants to have all the credit. Big Ben acting like he doesn't need Bell or Brown. Just JuJu. Blaming his picks on his coaches and WRs. Having a standoff with Tomlin vs the Raiders game. Tomlin doesn't want to have to beg Ben to play that game. Ben wants Tomlin to grovel to get him back in the game.

Locker room is a mess. They imploded bigly and I'm not surprised if many want to get out of there. They probably could have had Bell back in all honesty. What kind of offensive line throws shade at their runningback because of money? No runningback in his right mind decides to play behind those guys.. an RB's nightmare.

No idea why Brown was out.. although I think he was genuinely hurt? But Big Ben is making everything a hot mess. Must be a super annoying offense to be in with all the drama this year. Dude goes to the media about not having his texts returned..

Oof I hate the Steelers!

EDIT: written before I got caught up with the details. CBS broadcast had reported an injury at the time so I went off that. I still hate the Steelers though! The lesser Pats.

Why is it that the real Diva’s in this league play either WR or CB?

Steelers are close to having to rebuild.

My theory on it is that those were the kids who were the fastest and most agile growing up on the playground. They always won and were “the best” so they developed attitude.

they line up away from everyone and get lonely. They're constantly playing one on one battles. Almost everything they do is an individual accomplishment. Takes a different kind of personality to be focused all by your lonesome split wide with the enemy lined up in front of you. Every. Darn. Play.

Can't win with garbage human beings at critical positions and certainly can't win when the aholes take themselves out of the lineup. Selfishness is actually just a lack of maturity, which is unsurprising from a WR. Pretty hilarious the lack of humility from a 6th round pick from the MAC who is who he is because he has a QB to get him the ball. Classic ignorant arrogance. Hope Roethlisberger retires and that tool can't play the remainder of his career with some real bums at QB.

Love football, hate the NFL as an organization and I never root for players because of losers like this. Every week it's something with these immature babies.

Just another in a long list of players I root against and won't feel bad next time he gets lit up.

Wow.

WTF is in the water there in that locker room?  Le'veon Bell now AB.

Talk about a team imploding.  In the end, they did what they could (they won) and they didn't get the help they needed from Tenn or Baltimore, but Crikey.

Both are very talented guys, without a doubt but both are also making themselves Poison Pills.

Tomlin seems to have a hard time keeping his players in check. Something is really not right in that organization at all. It's sad really, they aren't a terrible team but accountability and discipline are sorely missing.

Based on his contract, not much — without taking a massive cap hit. Thanks to a $19 million signing bonus paid in 2017 and a $12.96 million restructure bonus paid in 2018, the Steelers would carry $21.12 million in dead money if they cut or trade Brown. (They could release him in March with a post-June 1 designation, resulting in $7.04 million counting against 2019 and $14.08 million counting against 2020.)

Whenever a decision is made, something needs to happen by the fifth day of the league year, which begins in March. That’s when Brown earns another $2.5 million roster bonus. Presumably, the Steelers would want to cut or trade him before then.

Tomlin runs the "Jimmy Johnson" no discipline, boys being boys, we at the club locker room. Bell and Blunt caught with weed on way to airport.  Martavius Bryants antics, and now this.   Bad character kills teams.  Good luck with that.
