BurpleBull
Good deal. Hopefully this eliminates the "draft (QB) in the 6th rd" talk leading up to it.

Kmart128
Well looks like the QB room will be set. Kinda wanted to potentially steal Tannehill as a backup but Josh did play very well once Derek was added

gonzo1105
Pretty obvious that they wanted to keep Anderson around as a mentor to Allen. To me that makes a lot of sense. They give him 1 more year salary to basically be a really highly paid coach in the room. I think that’s part of the reason why it took him so long to get out of concussion protocol. I think they said well keep you on here, mentor Josh, we’ll deactivate you on game days. I think it will be much the same same next year. Can’t see even a developmental QB being drafted.
BillyWhiteShows
He’s got a pretty sweet deal. He’s basically a player/coach who gets paid the veteran minimum which is way higher than a QB Coach.

dollars 2 donuts
I love having their 3 set before 2018 is even over. Man, they must have really liked the way their QB's work together in the last 6-7 weeks. Edited December 31, 2018 by dollars 2 donuts

No way we can spend $90M next year..so cap not an issue. But does he get cut opening day cause its 82 out and need another DEnd?
Johnny Hammersticks
Like it. QB room is all set through next season. Plenty of good mentoring around our undisputed franchise guy, and decent insurance if needed.

K-9
What a difference a year makes going from zero stability at the most important position to making it one of the most solidified on the squad. Mark80
I don't get it really. He is terrible as a QB. Why not just add him to the coaching staff? The guy should never be on the field again IMO. 3
JimKellyTryouts
I'm a little surprised he wanted to come back after getting rocked with that concussion as he was in the midst of retirement. Ideally, he'll not have to take a single snap on the field for us this next year, and *insert cliches about being a mentor*

TigerJ
Meh. It's OK, I guess as a benbefit to Josh Allen. I think it's a bit redundant (Matt Barkley is already a veteran presence). With Josh Allen being just a second year QB (in 2019) there's no particular rush to bring in a developmental guy. After next season, I would definitely let him go in favor of a youngster. If Anderson, Barkley, and Allen have developed a good supportive chemistry, OBD is smart not to disrupt it at this stage. DCbillsfan
This is a good move. Anderson has a lot of experience and Allen needs as much mentoring he can get. If all goes well, Anderson will be inactive for every game.

If they make him a coach he’s not making that kind of bank and he’s have to put in more hours as acoach
apuszczalowski
I dont understand keeping him around waiting a roster spot and cap space on him. If he is essential as an Allen mentor, make him a QB coach, theres no cap for coaches so the Pegulas can pay him what he is getting now. He was an upgrade over Peterman, but not a great option for anything else....

NoHuddleKelly12
So glad to see this; after a historically horrendous QB stretch this year mid season, they are finally pulling the right levers at the position it appears. Am optimistic this is the right mix in the QB room going forward into 2019!
