Something brewing with the Patriots?

Gronk was put on injured reserve and never played after Week 11 of the 2016 season. The Pats would go on to win Super Bowl 51 against the Falcons.

Brady/Belichick won before Gronk. They've won without Gronk. They will win after Gronk.

He's irrelevant.

...yet another expected and viable contribution to the discussion....SMH.....

Gronk trade isn't a 9.5 event. Brady retiring or getting suspended for PEDs is.

TheRobot is right.  Gronk has been out for extended timeframes before and the Pats*** just kept truckin'

I do think that Brady** has been leaning on Gronk more the last season or so because of the physical mismatch he represents and his catch radius but I wouldn't want to bet something I cared about that the Pats*** wouldn't be able to adjust to losing him.

Brady**, on the other hand....right now the Pats*** got Brady** and nothin'.

Gronk leaving the team isn't 9.5 on the Richter scale IMO, nor would it necessarily be the biggest story in the history of BB at the Patriots.  Ditto for Brady being suspended for PED usage.

It has to be bigger than that.

Something involving BB or Brady.  One leaving the organization?  Brady retiring?

Anyone else think that maybe someone in the Pats* organization leaked this intentionally to find a mole? There were probably very few people who knew about Edelman and then the story breaks before it should. Now you have this story coming out a day or two later. Wouldn't be surprised if there was a discreet firing within the organization.

Great player, not instrumental to their success though. Don’t know if I’d label him irrelevant as he’s a main cog when in the lineup, but he isn’t the straw that stirs their drink.

...so then why the continual worry from their opponents as to "who will cover Gronk"?......fake news?.........

Not at all. He’s a major matchup issue for everyone. And I’m not taking anything away from him as a player. But the Pats*** have proved that they can win championships without him.

This is totally something they would do.  Everything with this franchise is cloak and dagger type stuff.

Smart  - tell suspected snitches 5 different stories and see which one ends up on Reddit.  I learned this is High Level Business Meetings 101.

Brady wants to prove he was the reason why they are a dynasty. Belichick believes he is the reason. Belichick is going to beat Brady to the punch and retire before ol' #12 does so when they go in the toilet, bellyboy can say see.... i was the reason.

I knew it, it’s a “Rex trap” as it’s now know across the league.

This would not really surprise me, I think there is a battle of egos and legacies going on there. Funny thing is I bet they both want NE to suck when they are gone. Brady getting rid of JG was part of that battle. BB retiring, Gronk suspended/traded or Brady suspended for peds would be my best guesses if something really big is indeed happening. What if it was all three, that would be ......  a good daydream?
