I personally would like to see the bills get a new stadium and possibly retractable roof definitely leave it open when the warm weather teams come to town . I am not expecting NYS to do much of anything in regards to a new stadium so the more expensive options such as retractable roof are not going to happen. Then I can walk away from the certain PSL attached to me ST and be happy. But hitting me up as taxpayer and then as a ST for a PSL is horse bleep. I'd give my season willingly either way on a dome. And a dome isn't getting used in Bflo, NY for "other" things. Anyone who can sell out an NFL stadium doesn't come to Bflo. I have read talk of the possibility of a new stadium doubling as a convention center for Buffalo (since a new one is needed anyway), which would make a lot of sense. If it a avenue that can be used for much more than just football, that helps make the tax payer money that will be used more palatable. But i I do think the cold, snowy, windy Buffalo weather can also be used to our advantage (especially with McDermott following Belichick's lead and making his team practice out in the elements here). The local politicians are too selfish and dumb to understand the trickle affects of building a new stadium, they will refuse any public money be given. Pegs will use this as his excuse to Initiate talks for moving the team to a more “sustainable” city with a “bright” future. Buffalo is not that. Complete opposite amof. Please. If your asking for it to be open in December when the Dolphins come here. It most likely won’t happen. Back when they played in Toronto I remember them saying they couldn’t open the dome there after it reaches certain temperatures because of failures opening or closing or leaks being created. Myth of "weather advantage"? You might want to check the history of Miami visits in late November and December. The Raiders and Chargers are other teams that struggle in winter weather. That being said, I relocated many years ago and haven't attended a game in Orchard Park since Thanksgiving weekend of 1996 but that game is imprinted in my memory as it was so cold, even my family and friends who were residents wanted to leave after the 3rd Qtr. I think it would make sense to go with a dome. I'm sure some decision makers in Minneapolis may be 2nd guessing their replacing of the Metrodome with an open air baseball stadium. New Era Field has been home to concerts by the Rolling Stones, One Direction, Guns n Roses, and U2 over the last couple years. And Jay Z and Beyonce will be there this summer. The Stones came to Buffalo and attracted a huge crowd. The problem isn’t Buffalo, the problem is a crap music industry. Building a stadium anywhere with the idea of getting entertainment acts is an invalid reason to build these days. A new stadium will built with the sole intention of corporate cash and seat licenses. It’s all about more cash in the league’s pocket. They couldn’t care less about what it provides to the community. I like the Ralph and think they could do one more renovation to it (allowing a warming area for all fans) and it would be perfect for me. These new stadiums are so glitzy and bright and there's electronics absolutely everywhere--I like tailgating, going in the stadium for 3.5 hours, get a few beers, a sandwich and leave. 8 times per year, maybe 10 if you have a great team. For real though, something like the Vikings stadium all day - that translucent roof is something else in real life. That, and the big doors in the front make it feel like you're outdoors.
