Multiple people shot at KC parade.

When I lived in KC, someone a few blocks from me was shot in the face for refusing to give a handout to a panhandler at a bus stop.  On New Years, there were so many guns firing into the air it sounded like firecrackers.  KC can be a pretty dangerous city.

St. Louis is bad too. Ditto Memphis.

Is it a small city problem with nothing else to do?

Who knows

Why do we even report on gun violence anymore? Deaths from shootings are more common than motor vehicle deaths in the US at this point, so might as well start treating it the same.

Not like anybody cares enough to try & make it better, so "thoughts & prayers" and stuff...

Probably illegal guns anyway. Looks like a shootout between gang members with people shot in the crossfire. That’s why you have strict laws and no cashless bail.

There is no debate than it is mental illness.

There is a reason why this country has more guns than people.  The only country in the world.  And you are correct.  It is a mental health problem.

I just got back from the parade with my family.  Incredible day.  Beautiful weather, and everyone was having a blast.  Ridiculous that any dirtbag can walk into any place in America and start killing people, but here we are.  We just have to make sure not to go crazy and actually do anything to prevent it from ever happening again.

Glad you're ok Billl, sad times we are living in

I care. To say no one cares is too absolute and just wrong. Tons of people care. The problem is we (as a culture) don't respect and love people the way we should. So that's what I try to do. What else can I do ya know.

It’s not an inner city shooting…..was the fatality a white Female?

Interesting stat.  What are the actual numbers?

About the same, but that includes suicide by firearms which are over half of total gun deaths.

There is simply no way for you to definitively know that.

Fair because everyone I know who is 100% emotionally stable and has a well functioning and healthy life is prone to violence.

Y'all need to avoid the politics and go to PPP. No one gives a ***** about anyone's political opinions on this. Go there to the cesspool.

At any rate...I wish I felt even 1% shocked when a new mass shooting happens in America. Alas...

That's the thing about the world today. I really wish a shooting like this would take me by shock. But after so many incidents and so many years of it...I've just become numb to it all.

Unfortunately some people just resort to violence,  because it's easy and they have no regard for life.

I think people use mental illness as a catch all to ignore the gun factor in shootings.

I’d hate for mental illness to ruin things for all the gun people.

I’m trying to lighten up a terrible situation, and get things back on track. Please people, let’s focus a bit.

This is 100% going to be a case of two idiots arguing over who "disrespected" the other one, then firing indiscriminately in each other's direction. They'll both have a ton of prior arrests, including felonies that make any ownership of any firearm illegal, and it will be swept under the rug like every other handgun homicide in this country that isn't politically expedient or helpful for certain narratives.

It's not about the world. It's about America.  Make no mistake.

I’ve always said that when the Bills win the Super Bowl, I would be front and center at the parade. Things like this, make me wonder if that would be a wise  decision.

Doing that one remotely might be a wise move.

Stay home and burn a couch in the road.

Do you really think the Super Bowl celebration was the cause of this?

I get what you’re saying, but don’t lump the rest of us in with American gun violence.

In America it's gun violence. In other countries there are issues as well. Let's not act like any place in the world is a freaking Utopia.
