First impression: James Cook

Victory Formation

Recommended Posts

I posted this in the post game thread but I think it's worth a repost here

Cook was our leading rusher last night

Cook 11 carries/53 yards and used his speed to rip off a long 38 yard run - 4.8 yd average

Motor 6 carries/19 yards - 3.2 yd average

Moss 3 carries/17 yards - 5.7 average

Need to start giving Moss's carries to Cook

The RB by committee sucks for this team because we are pass happy, and for good reason.  These guys hardly get in any rhythm, I thought after the end of last year this ***** would be over.  Singletary proved he can handle a load late last year. I’m not sure about the other two, maybe they can too, but this rotation is terrible.

They abandoned the run when they got up by 3 scores.

Yeah I’m not complaining that we won most certainly not but it would seem then in games where we go up by three scores that would be a great opportunity to work on a running game we are doing awesome right now but we need a balanced attack sooner or later defenses are going to adjust what they’re doing to us

If anybody has video of Cook's only big run, I'd love to watch the schnowman doing his thing again.

That was funny as hell.

Here it is.

Dawkins is the only starter left on the field and he's still getting after it.

It's not as fun as losing, but it'll do for now.

Would’ve been a 67 yard house call if Farley wasn’t a freak athlete

I'm still not convinced Cook has the long speed that everybody seems to have been taking for granted since he was drafted.

He’s certainly fast and is going to be quite good when he starts getting more comfortable.  He’s gotta get more minutes and hopefully we set up more passes out of the backfield for him.  All the negative nonsense is silly. Kid is very talented and his bloodlines are proof of that as well. He looked very Dalvin-like on that big run for sure.  Agree we need to bolster the line moving forward.  It’s necessary for the long term success of Allen, Cook and the rest of the team.

I think he does but he’ll have to go relatively untouched. Having to run through any arm tackles is gonna slow him down a lot more than it slows down guys like JT, Henry, and Chubb.

Here is cook in the national championship game against Alabama. Listen to Kirkstreets analysis of Cooks cutback and vision. This is the speed everyone's talking about

I'm just talking about long speed.

There were three college players running stride for stride with him in that clip.

I don't think he can run away from NFL DBs.

Watch it again.  They were ahead of him and they took a good angle and caught him.

If they were even with him Cook would have left them in the dust.

And let's not forget that 90% of Alabamas defense goes to the pros.

he brings another dimension to Bills offense , once they work him up and into the game.
Not sure how they keep 3 next year , but that's worry for next year :D

will be fun to watch how Dorsey integrates his skill set as the season progresses

 Go Bills

I thought Cook looked much better today and had a few nice plays.

He's a 2nd round pick. He should have more than 2-3 good plays (vs about 5 bad ones). Every time he touches the ball I hold my breath, and not because he might do something good

Then the coaching staff should get him more touches instead of Mr. 1.8 Yards Per Carry.

1 pick away from a 3rd round pick. He’s also a rookie. Every time? You must be a hoot to watch a game with.

Love that movie, holds up so well today, also is a surprisingly good movie/story despite being about Giant Turtles.

I just found out that it's supposed to be a Daredevil parody lol. The ooze is what blinds Murdock and Splinter is a twist on Stick.

They might have taken some inspiration from the Daredevil comic but can't really be a parody if none of them are blind, also the comic was much darker not really a comedy.

According to Eastman that's how it started. They wrote it as the origins being the same event and some of the characters are parodies. After the container hits Matt it then strikes a bystander holding a fish tank of turtles. Eastman and Laird talked about how crazy the premise was, but it worked/works.

He is coming along nicely...he was lining up as a WR in the 4th quarter as the Bills were seriously down to him, Quentin Morris and Reggie Gilliam for their WR packages.

Yeah, that was an amazing stretch there.  The fact that Josh was able to move those guys down the field (behind that line) was a minor miracle.
