Nor is there any mention of profits (or a portion of profits) going to this cause. So clearly I passed until I find something a bit more legitimate. I saw one site, not going to post a direct link, but it had "tee" in the address, that said sales were going to end tonight due to copyright violations. When you look at the fake shirt site and compare it against the ones in the event today, it's easy to pick out the difference. klos63
I usually don't get caught up in the 'we're great people' and 'great community' stuff, a lot of athletes feel obligated to say the love the city or whatever... but this is the most genuine display of real emotion and caring that I can recall. It's a reflection of the type of organization the Bills strive to be along with the type of quality people they desire to play for the team. I don't think this is something that's over when the next mass shooting occurs later this week. This is the start of a nice movement for the community. 1 minute ago, YoloinOhio said: I actually like cold weather and winter - strange, i know! Ironically even though it is much further south, Flagstaff has nearly identical weather to Buffalo much of the year down to snowfall totals and average monthly high temperatures due to it's elevation. It has somewhat warmer high temps in winter months, averaging around 44 while we are in the low to mid 30s, but the lows are similar. One interesting footnote...ended up taking a mule trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in late May quite some time ago and starting out at the top in Flagstaff it was in the low 70s, but quickly got into the 90s when we hit the plateau and topped out at around 105 at the bottom. Crazy how elevation can make that dramatic of a difference in temperature. Edited May 19, 2022 by Big Turk

davefan66
Amazing effort by all organizations involved. From the pro teams, to those who cooked and provided the food, to anyone who helped. I hate when people who have no idea what our community is about spew vitriol regarding “no jobs”, “snow” and “lost 4 in a row”. That’s not Buffalo. This is what makes Buffalo the community it is.

Haslett_Stomp
Like some others here, I have not spent much time in the Buffalo area since I left for college in the mid-1980's. I still love the area and would move back there in a minute if my wife wasn't a hard core New Englander. The people of Buffalo are unlike any others I have encountered in the various places I have lived over the years and I am more proud than ever to call myself a Buffalonian. God bless. I think it’s more about not having anything for the people who don’t/can’t drive.

Was moved , like so many , how the Bills , Sabres, and Bandit players showed up and actually took part.. was not a superficial, BS act. I think it shows just how special Buffalo is.. The way the Mafia contributes league wide to various causes, what was accomplished in Josh's Grandmother's name at Children's Hospital epitomizes how special Buffalo is.. It is heartwarming and simply makes Buffalo unique is the most positive sense

I have a question, but I don't want it to turn into something as I am not implying anything. Just simply asking: Were Terry and/or Kim at the event. Just curious. No judgement. I was curious about the same thing. Like you not passing judgements but I feel they missed a really golden opportunity to demonstrate that the problem of hate needs everyone working to combat it to remove it as a source that let's these types of atrocities to occur. Make no mistake until everyone is on board to eliminate hate these things won't stop happening. It's why the Black Lives Matter movement has had limited success in preventing things like this from happening. They narrowed the focus too much toward one group of people that attracts the attention of the hate that is the underlying enabler of these acts. I never liked the Black Lives Matter slogan because it was too exclusive to one group of people. I believe it actually hurt progress as it promotes segregation instead of promoting integration. Everyone has to work together to make significant and enduring changes that will benefit everyone not just try to right past wrongs. History cannot be changed but learning from history can prevent repeating it. I have always loved history because it is full of answers to all types of problems if you just dig into similar events as one you are trying to prevent. Events that have been occurring for years now keep me researching history for some answers as to how to start to combat the problems we see that seem to be spreading rather than receding. Lately the poem by Pastor Martin Niemoeller really jumps out to me from previous journeys I made into history I found inspiring and that just screams out with words of wisdom and a path to undertake to make appropriate changes that can lead to the changes we all deserve to see grow and flourish. First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me While the slogan choose love is certainly powerful and a step in the right direction it falls short. Speak out against injustices no matter how trivial they may seem to you because any injustice can create patches of resentment that can fester to create more of these incidents. Injustice isn't exclusive to any group it's in abundance up and throughout life. Failing to speak out will only repeat horrific events. So if Terry and Kim had been front and center with the players and coaches of their pro teams that would have truly been a way to Speak Out.
