9/19//21 Week 2 Bills @ Miami Postgame Thread

Recommended Posts

Nice solid win. Will never complain with winning, especially winning by 35 pts! D looks really solid and performing well as a unit. AJE, Groot, Ed, Milano, Zimmer, Taron Johnson and Wallace all had strong games.

Offensively, they haven’t clicked on all cylinders since the playoffs began last year. Much better balance this game and the more they can make the D account for the running game the more it will help the offense. It’s great when your QB has a meh game but still scores 5 TD’s and knowing Josh doesn’t have to always have his best for us to win.

A few things that stand out after two games:

Beasley hasn’t been much involved.
Would like to see more crossing routes and ability for YAC.

RB or TE screens

Josh is having to make a ton of tougher throws as it seems he’s under constant pressure

Looking to see how Daboll adjusts based upon trends the opposing teams see.

Concerned about the lack on consistency picking up 3rd and short from the running game.

Lets go Buffalo! Lets beat WFT.

35 - 0 against a division rival coming off a week one win over NE.

I was worried about this game because I figured at some point we would lay an egg against the Dolphins.  Makes this win even sweeter.

The defense played lights out.  The pass rush was outstanding and Espinoza was dominating.

Allen and the offense are still not firing on all cylinders but I'm confident it will come sooner then we think. At critical moments in today's game the offense flashed a bit of 2020 getting off to a quick start (14 - 0) and then coming out of the locker room at half and going 75 yards to go up 21 - 0 to put the game away.

Bease was 8 for 13 for 80 yds last week, 4 for 4 for 36 yds this week.  Average last year was 5.5 receptions for 64.5 yds, so a little low, but it wasn't even last season, either - Beasley had 5 games where he "went off" for >100 yds but also 5 games with <40 yds.

I thought this was a worse game for Allen than last week. The Dolphins really wanted to lose this one. I'm about as skeptical as I've ever been after a 35-0 blowout.

EDIT: And by skeptical I don't mean skeptical of Allen's skill. Just that something is off with him right now..

I'm very happy with the game results.  I'm thrilled with the defense.  I'm pretty happy with the offense.  Why pretty happy with the offense?  I believe at this point Josh Allen's struggles are far from incurable.  Though Allen had a fairly poor completion percentage, he took care of the football.  At the same time, the running game is looking more effective than it did in 2020.  I think that between the running game and the defense, it will take some of the pressure off of Allen as he tries to straighten his game out.  Having a mediocre opponent next Sunday won't hurt.

Found this on NFL.com... Next Gen stat of the game: Bills RB Devin Singletary reached a speed of 20.29 mph on his 46-yard TD run

Geez, how fast was the safety going who ran him down? - )

Thank god for Tua’s brittle rib

They would have been shut out even harder with Tua

Should have scored 50

Miami is not a threat

Great game but could have been a legendary beat down.

Stoked on Groot

It sounds goofy but that might be the least impressive one-sided blowout I've seen in a while.

On the other hand it validates what McDermott preaches about complementary football. Last week the 3 phases conspired to to just enough to lose. Today when one phase failed the next one up righted the ship.

Your posts make me think of weird *****.

What if a team that scores a safety has the option to either add two points to their own score, or take two points off the other teams score.

Tua could have made it:

Bills      35

Miami   -4

If the complaint was the running game you got 3 scores from it today. If your complaint this week is JA I guess we get 6 days to think about it. I think his timing is a bit off but its all stuff he will work towards. 1-1 with 15 games left. If the defense continues to build on what they are doing we will have to entertaining football this season. Milano resigning paid off today.

Anybody noticed how much/since when Spencer Brown played today?

I only saw one snap in the 3rd quarter because he did his Spencer Brown thing of, when the running back gets held up, Brown comes flying in at 100mph and splats someone.

I think McD was just giving one to the Defense and called Tremaine up as the captain.

Ok makes sense… I was gonna say, shouldn’t  that go to AJ today?

I'd have tried to give it to Milano but he probably would have just ripped my arm off and took it.
