What would be the positive spin on this I wonder?  Signing an injury prone player and he gets hurt on the 4th day in camp with an injury related to the injury prone concerns. This is almost as bad as Holcomb slipping on the mat, then later falling in the shower and whacking his head then having to retire.  Can't help but feel like this player is damaged goods, and may never be able to be counted upon to be available.  This is very bad news, not to be swept under the rug IMO.

Kelly Holcomb, gone too soon. Probably the craziest way to lose a QB lol.

I know, right? I'm just over here clutching my pearls. Don't worry about me.

I actually know a therapist that "cures", well, solves concussions, quickly and pretty much permanently. He has worked with many NHL players... and me! Because of legalities, therapists and order in-fighting, he sadly can't be too public, even though he was featured a few years ago in NHL.com, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia newspapers, as well as some Quebec major TV networks. I sure wished the Bills would give him a try! But their own team therapists might see him as a threat, which is dumb, since he does NOT want to be exclusive to a pro team.

Me too. Please forgive my earlier harshness.

never, ever apologize to @Augie, he invites and deserves the harshness

Yep.

They went 0 for last offseason with FA signings and Kroft and Morse are picking up right where they left off.

you smoking again? Star was a beast in the middle last, did exactly what is job called for. And Trent balled out in Minnesota , was staring to really come back to form, had a great game in Houston, and then they left him in for garbage time in Indy when he got hurt..

It feels like almost every signing in the last two years was either coming off of a major injury or has a history of injuries.

2018 -- one (Murphy)

2019 -- two (Kroft, Morse)

Yeah, sounds about right.  Look, there's no way to positively spin Morse having another concussion but you guys go off the deep end waaaay too quickly.

If Morse retires before the season, he will be the 5th player under Beane to abruptly retire.

I had "When." I replaced it with "If." You got a problem with that????

Except Kevin Kolb slipped on a mat.

I dont suppose this would be the wrong time to say......calm down?

Normally I'd agree with you, John.  But we're talking about the highest paid center in the league having a significant injury history - including concussions - who's already been concussed in the first week of training camp.

Oh ... and there's no contingency plan.

I am a huge Beane fan ... but this does not look good for the Bills or for Beane.

Hate to break this to you but stating an opinion about something unlikely to happen is not "a fact."

Replace "When," with "If," and it's factual.  Poor wording on my part.

This thread would be hilarious, if ti wasn't so sad.

How many of you posting in here were just waiting for this kind of news to validate your individual biases?

I was ecstatic when he was acquired.  I didn't know he had such a lengthy injury history, though.  I hope this is just a slight concussion and he doesn't miss a beat.  Dude is still very young.

You know I'm right about this, though. Right? Edit: the guy cleared medical when acquired.

So we should all consider "When or if Gugny is caught in a huge emu sex trafficking scandal he will become the first TBDer to be caught in a huge emu trafficking scandal" a fact? Good to know.

Oh, I'm sure anyone who was against getting/paying him will jump on this like white on rice.

No ... that would be adding, instead of replacing.

And I hate to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure Exiled was the first to get busted in an emu sex trafficking scandal.

We haven’t even played a game yet. This is a concern not an issue. There’s a reason we signed 1000 linemen and have multiple players who can play multiple positions for scenarios just like this. Concussions are always concerning but in today’s game everyone gets them. I don’t think there’s a team in the league who wouldn’t of signed Morse, maybe not everyone pays as much as we did but that’s the nature of the beast

I think it would not be an issue at any other OL position, but for Allen's development, this is an issue IMO.

Agreed.

especially given his position though, I do worry quite a bit about this one though. 4 reported and who knows how many times his bell has been rung without getting caught.

given his history, his contract, etc... even if he still starts week 1 this is probably right up there with the most concerning injuries we could see for in camp

I was wondering this as well. Given his injury history I feel center might be a very high priority in the upcoming draft.

At a quick glance..

Looks like earliest realist out would be after 2 years with it ending up a 2 year 27-28m type of deal with 5.5m in dead money left behind

hopefully does not become a real discussion though.
