Alphadawg7
https://nesn.com/2019/05/nfl-rumors-patriots-have-discussed-kyle-rudolph-trade-with-vikings/ Count me in the camp that hopes he does not end up in NE. These rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, but this would make sense and seems like a plausible scenario.
Doc
There’s no way he ends up with the Cheaters if he’s looking for the money from them that he’s demanding from the Vikings.

Doc
Yes it was. And I’m sure many teams have discussed a trade for Rudolph. They’re going to want a high draft pick for him and he’ll want a ton of money.

The Minnesota Vikings tight end could be player the Buffalo Bills are interested in acquiring after recently losing one of their own tight ends to an injury. https://thevikingage.com/2019/05/27/minnesota-vikings-rudolph-buffalo-bills/ Minnesota has even offered Rudolph a five-year extension, but the two sides have yet to agree on any sort of new deal. Since no new contract has yet to be signed, the tight end could technically still be available in a trade if the Vikings get an offer they like. One team that may now be interested in Rudolph’s services is the Buffalo Bills. The Bills recently lost tight end Tyler Kroft for at least three months thanks to a broken foot and the Buffalo News’ Jay Skurski thinks that Rudolph could possibly end up as his replacement on their roster.

But Rudolph wants to be paid near the top, which is even more than Gronk made. And again the drafts pick. It’s going to be hard for them to trade him without getting very little in return for him. If the pats trade for him, give him a raise for just this year and let him walk they probably get the Comp back

If all they want is a fifth then they probably have quite a few suitors. But what does a fifth round pick in 2020 do when they could probably get a third round comp pick in 2021 plus his services for the year? 1 minute ago, Canadian Bills Fan said: We have seen how this ends.... billsfan89
I would love for the Bills to trade a 5th for Rudolph. I think the TE position is a mess. You have Kroft who is hurt and I think will start the season on the PUP. Behind Kroft you have Lee Smith who is a blocking TE more of niche in 20% of offensive snaps. Knox a very raw rookie who will likely need a year or two before he can be a starter, and then a mishmash of players like Croom (who wasn't that impressive) and a 7th round pick in Sweeney. Rudolph would instantly upgrade the weakest position on the team at a fairly modest price and make life for Josh Allen easier. You can PUP Kroft so that he can come back and be healthy as a TE2 (Put Smith and Knox behind Rudolph and Kroft) or at least you don't have to get desperate at TE with Kroft. Overall I think the Bills would be fools to not trade for Rudolph if the price was modest.
LSHMEAB
The 5th round pick is nothing. The fact that he wants a 5 year/50 million dollar deal is a hard no for me.

GunnerBill
The Vikings are facing a salary cap crunch. They have guys they can release without taking massive cap hits in 2020 and 2021 but they are going to have to let 4 or 5 good players go. And that is without pointing out that Cousins is only under contract through 2020. So in 2021 they have already committed $175m, have 43 players signed (though the majority of that money is tied up in 10 players) and no Quarterback.

Home town discount @9 a year. That's still a lot of $ for a good TE that hasn't exactly put up great numbers. But sure would have loved him on this team. Here's to hoping Dawson Knox can develop and step right up into that role.

Yeah, there's going to be a bloodletting of sorts. You can bet that Griffen and Linval Joseph will be gone, which will get them under the cap, but they'll have more work to do beyond just those two. They'll probably have to let Reilly Reiff go and re-work Harrison Smith's contract if they want to avoid trading Diggs.

buffaloaggie
Love the fact that our drafting of Knox contributed to the Patriots scramble for a replacement Tight End for Gronk. RocCityRoller
I think that Rudolph would be 'ok' here, but pose a problem in New England. I don't need him here, but I don't want him in New England. I'm ok trying Knox, Sweeney and Croom, and holding on for Kroft. I may even IR Croft and see if any TE emerges, and get the best Kroft Buffalo can get in 2020.
