Shady’s gone if we sign Bell.  Can’t have $20MM tied up in two backs

they have enough cap room...for this year and beyond.   I just looked prior to these recent signings, Bills have 115 Million next year in cap space...

The way McCoy is conducting himself on Twitter (in a good way), along with signing his buddy Gore, I just don’t see us trading Shady..

I could see us signing Bell, but have no clue what a Bell/Shady backfield looks like, and that’s an absurd amount of money to tie up at RB....albeit for one year where we’re flush with cap space and can probably afford to do something nonsensical.

You assume McCoy has any idea what Beane is doing.  Seriously doubt they called Shady and said by the way, we are trying to replace you with Bell.  McCoy won't know until the rest of us know what Beane is doing.

I'd laugh if Bell signs with the Bills and not the Jets.

Jets can really give Bell what he wants.

Now it would be an upset if Bell isn't wearing whatever the Jets new uniforms look like.

For all we know the Bills are just in it to drive the price up on the Jets.

I can see the Jets getting desperate now and giving him the insane contract he wants.

Would it be any other way?

The Bills can give Bell what he wants as well.

I'm one who definitely hates paying RBs big money.  I think you can find a good one that you can win with just about anywhere.  But, the longer this goes, I think Bell signing with the Bills would be fun to watch (on the field, but mostly the Jets fans going bananas because they thought it was a done deal) and I don't think it would hurt us financially at all.

I am looking at the way Beane and company are structuring all of these contracts they are signing.   They are front loading them with a bunch of guaranteed money which makes it super easy to get out of the later years with virtually no financial commitment.  If they keep doing this, the salary cap will never really be an issue.  And with Bell, you could realistically do the same thing by signing him to a 4 year deal, jamming all the money in the first couple years, and walk away from him when you need to with no issues.

Nice having an owner that can sign multiple contracts with big up front money.  Really helps in getting guys here and maintaining cap flexibility.

Did I mention how fun it would be to watch the Jets fans jump off a bridge?

Link?

There is none.  Has not happened.  No mention of it on Twitter at all.  May well happen as it sounds like they are bidding against themselves, but it hasn't become official yet.
