If I'm Vrabel, I'm taking a better opportunity with a smaller shadow to work in

Mac Jones went a couple games without an interception, and their fans and media were calling him brady and planning 6 more parades

NE is a good opportunity in terms of picks and cap....there is a lot of cap available for them to build a team and a high pick for a QB.  Maybe somewhere that has a QB could be thought of as better.  I do agree on the shadow thing but I think Vrabel is one who maybe can handle that.

This makes 6 coaches fired in the division since McDermott took over.

So does Bill retire or take the Chargers job. After dealing with crap at QB these past few seasons I could see LAC since Herbert is someone Bill feels he could win with. Plus, on paper they are talented, but it never shows on the field with the W/L record. As a bonus Bill could make things tough on Andy and the Chiefs if he went there.

A good friend of mine is from Boston and is a Pats fan. He wants Vrabel (likely), and the Pats to draft the only can't-miss prospect in the draft, Marvin Harrison Jr.

Harrison on the Pats would annoy me for years, regardless of which noodle arm QB they have.

If the Bears move on from Fields, I wonder if NE would kick the tires on that. I bet the Jets and Steelers will as well.

Not surprised.  Get while the getting is good.  Wonder if he already has a place to land?

Not a lock replacement is Vrabel. If hoodie has an axe to grind with ownership, I could see him telling Vrabel not to take the job. Also, Vrabel will probably go to highest bidder/best chance to win. NE is not the best chance to win right now.  Seattle may be.

Yes, belichick may have done great things as a coach.  And just like Tommy, their accomplishments will always be tainted. Just like Sosa, McQwire and Bonds he will always have an asterisks on his accomplishments.

NE may have picks and cap, but no QB and an aging defense.  Could land a good WR with high pick, but what about QB?  Even if they pick someone no guarantee they are any good.

Attractive to a new HC probably, not an experienced like Vrabel.

Patriots job is the least attractive job outside of the Panthers.

Damn, with Harbaugh flirting with the NFL again I wonder where all these coaches end up.

They have a top pick and plenty of cap space.

In a surprise move he goes to Oakland to reunite with Jimmy G and he names McDaniels his OC.

That defense is not aging.  Vrabel has already said he wants to coach in NE.(should they choose him)

And a top 3 pick is still a top 3 pick.

I would absolutely love to see him follow the Sean Payton route and take a year off to be on one of the NFL Sunday morning shows. Would be unintentional comedy gold.

I would think you get the qb before the wr but that is just me.   Guys like cousins and Wilson will be available but also a good draft for qb. Of course it’s always a crap shoot

Not young.

Yep, top 3 pick is a top 3 pick. Would rather bill be making the pick!

Still, not a team you insert a successful top pick and now you are a competitive team. No QB.  Not the greatest WR’s or RB’s.  Don’t believe they are super attractive to a veteran HC.  Maybe Vrabels heart stings are pulled to go there?  Maybe.  But a competitive guy like him who was thrown to the street the way he was in Tennessee, maybe he wants the least restrictive path to coaching a very good team.

I agree. But if a “generational” WR like Harrison is on the board? Very difficult not to want to wrap up top WR for many years to come.

That defense seems like it could be crazy good if a little healthier but I think a lot of that is belichick.  He ran that offense straight into the ground though lol

Forgot he was still coaching.

So does Madden.

Last bought Madden in 2013, then got 2024.

When I played against the Pats, Belicheat was nowhere to be found - they would show some random coach/NPC.

I used to dream of the day that both Brady and Belichick were gone from the *Patriots. Now that it has happened it seems a bit anticlimactic. But I raise a glass anyway and say, “Ding ***** the wicked witch is dead.”

Agreed, but why are we censoring "*****"?  Nothing wrong with onomatopoeia!

Please point to where is the aging at exactly?

Their top corner who looks to be a stand out is/was a rookie

Christian Barmore their D-end who came on the last few games was drafted in 21

Kevion white another D-end

Was drafted in 2023

Jabril peppers 28yr

Kyle Dugger strong Stafety drafted 2020(27yr)

Josh Uche LB. Drafted 20. (25 yes  old)

Not going to go through the whole roster, that would be wild, but went through some noticeably names on defense just now.
