The reported asking price is a 2nd Plus. The 2nd Round doesn't start until tomorrow.

It could involve the Cardinals trading back into the 1st with either Baltimore or us

Hopkins is not coming to Buffalo…never was

That's a fact like what's underneath a Snapple Cap

Don't need him

It could. But it could just as easily be a Trade that's done tomorrow. I was replying to someone who was saying that if it doesn't happen in the next couple hours - it won't happen until much later, possibly into the season.

Cardinals have pick 12 and 33 plus their original pick 34. I could see them definitely wanting to turn one of those 2nd into another 1st if there's someone they like at 27...

Just came to comment on this.

with the additional pick in the early 2nd I 100% see them making a trade. To who is the question. We’ll have to see what the ravens and chiefs do as well.

Cardinals just traded from 12 to 6. Hopefully Hopkins wasn't part of that deal.

He wasn't.

Lions: 6, 81

AZ: 12,34, 168

Though that f's up our trade back to 34.

Starting to understand why Hopkins isnt gone yet, appears the Cardinals GM is an idiot.

He moved back 3 spots, drafted the best LT in this class AND moved up 1 pick in round 2, AND received a 1st & 3rd rounder I 2024.

Pretty sure the word idiot, is not the best choice

In other words, the bidding war they were trying to create with all of their "leaks" didn't materialize the way they hoped and they don't want to admit they are going to have to settle or cut him.

More specifically he said this:

AKA "we will trade him after the draft." Probably wants picks for next year which is projected to be a better class. I'd give him our 2024 3rd round comp pick no questions asked.

The problem with this is if Hopkins isn't moved during the Draft, Beane is going to take a WR and probably high. In which case, Hopkins will be out.

Beane isn't going to pass on the position hoping he can get a deal done with Hopkins after. He could be left empty handed and at best, in a poor negotiating position.

Draft a WR and also trade for Hopkins. Why not?

Because you're not going to take a guy in Round 1 and then trade for Hopkins, making your 1st Round pick a #3 for years to come.

Not with the holes, upgrades, and players who are FA's after this season (including the ENTIRE DT room) - and the finances it would take to get Hopkins when we already have Diggs and a 1st Rounder to go with Davis, Harty, Sherfield, and Shakir.
