sunshynman
There was likely a 50/50 chance of them getting it with Buffalo losing to the Bengals. But it sucks something awful that they the Bills and Bengals were not given the chance to finish the game. That was the only true fair solution. But it would have cost the NFL too much to push the games around. It is sad! And F no they don't deserve it. Although they did their part by winning their last 2 games. But to get it basically by default sucks balls.

SageAgainstTheMachine
I still don't see how all of these neutral site machinations are a better solution than pushing everything a week back and doing away with the pre-SB off week.
Greg S
It is what it is. I do like the fact that the Bills won't have to play a true road game. Home vs the fins, and the divisional round if they win on WC weekend. If they get to the AFCCG it will be either in a neutral site or OP. 2 3
KDIGGZ
Not only do they not deserve the bye but they should have had to face both us and Cinci, which they would have as the #2 seed. I would give them a 0% chance of beating both of us. There's a good chance that the best team in the AFC will not be in the Super Bowl as a result Edited January 9, 2023 by KDIGGZ 2

Even though KC usually wins the Chargers always seem to give them a good game. They would have a good shot at an upset. 1

Mango
The way I process this whole thing for the Bills is that in the sales/professional world is our employer gave us time to handle a personal matter. But we aren’t getting paid for days we didn’t show up. We hit our KPI’s, we are getting our base bonus. But the days missed cost us our escalators. We’re still firmly in the running for Presidents Club. It’s unfortunate. But it is what it is. KC showed up to work and hit their escalators. 4 1

We collectively did not care what happens in the playoffs including the seeding. Remember that and realize that the way the chips fell were not "fair" most importantly to Hamlin with him getting injured in the first place. I am at peace with not having the bye week and knowing that we won't be in an opponent's stadium for the AFCCG. Matt_In_NH
Given what happened with Hamlin, a decision had to be made not knowing the actual outcome of that game. If Cinci won, they would be the two and the Bills the three. If the Bills had won, they would be the one, its unknowable. There was no solution that would make everyone think it is "fair" and we all have to live with that. KC has a better winning percentage, without doing some crazy stuff, not sure what else the league could have done. At lease the Bills will not have to play at an opponents stadium...neutral field is the worst that can happen for the Bills. 4 minutes ago, HOUSE said: The #1 seed is not determined by win percentage How is it determined, ask House? 3

Up 27-10 with a minute left in the 3rd quarter and at home. That game was won and they ****ed up. 2 2

Eastport bills
We should just move on and focus on getting them in the AFC championship game. It’s tough but our guy almost died and now is doing great and who says it’s an advantage getting the bye. Last year GB and Tenn lost after getting the bye. They came out flat as a pancake. We’re riding an emotional wave that is building every week. Let’s just knock off one team at a time in our place with our fans. I’d rather play the Bengals on an absolute roll as opposed to coming off a bye. 1

But did the NFL do the right thing by awarding it to them? I guess. Short of having us finish our game against the Bengals, there was no other easy way to do it. But my dislike for the arrogant Chiefs fans has grown exponentially this year because of it.

PetermansRedemption
If the NFL wanted to proceed this way, the Chiefs should have randomly had one of their games excluded. Draw a number 1-16, that week doesn’t count for the Chiefs.

You’re absolutely right about Cinn. being a scary proposition thought. That has “shootout “ with the winner being the team with the last possession, written all over it.

What a Tuel
They absolutely do not deserve it. I have said it a thousand times, the NFL should have moved mountains to ensure there was the least amount of competitive impact to teams, especially the two teams that were dealing with what happened that night. Instead they said 🖕, we've got money to make and just canceled the game outright. The Bills were screwed out of a chance to prove they could be 14-3, and win the top seed and all the benefits that come with that. The Bengals were screwed out of a chance to prove they could be 13-4, and win the 2nd seed and all the benefits that come with that. The Chiefs were screwed out of maybe, potentially, if the Bills make it to face them in the AFCCG then they have to play at a neutral site. Boo freaking hoo.
