Apologize to our running game

You know who you are.

1636 rushing yards on the season. Over 5 ypc.

Cook and Singletary over 100 yards this week despite offensive line issues and against a good run D.

The roster isn't even built for this.

Josh is a stud who carries us lots but our running game has taken a lot of flak undeservedly this year. It's legit and it's time we recognized that fact. They deserve a game ball.

Even in short yardage when the pats knew we were running, they really couldn’t stop us. It was totally impressive, and that D is excellent against the run. Something is clicking.

Fear of 17. BB loves him and fears him. 🤷🏼‍♂️ just my opinion though.

he looked good running between the tackles. But that swing pass? He needs to make some guys miss once in a while.

he started his Bill's career with a fumble. Then got stuffed a lot. Now he's finding holes but slipping around 8 yards... The game's slowing down but he's got a little way to go before he totally calms down and sees everything slow and can then make his moves. It's coming...

let’s hope. I expected a Ekeler type

guy. Catch a 3-yarder, juke, and get 10. Stevenson for the Pats was more

elusive in the open field.

I’ve said it all year.

Cook is fine, just get him the ball.

Singletary is 4.5 ypc and steady as they come.

WGR pushes the don’t ever run narrative.

Bills possessed the ball forever tonight.

Allen is the leading rusher, though. I don't think there is really anything to apologize about. The Bills running backs outside of Singletary had been pretty ineffective. The play calling went away from running the ball. There were legitimate concerns, and those concerns have been addressed with Moss gone, Cook developing and getting more opportunities, and the play calling sticking with running the ball more.

I’m surprised we’re able to get the run game going vs NE the last few times we face them. What is it about NE ? They aren’t easy to run against.

They honestly seem to get demoralized early and after awhile it just looks like their whole team is just going through the motions. Belichick is also the least aggressive coach in the league. He is very conservative on offense. So if the defense has no hope in the offense getting a spark, that's another thing to demoralize you.

I don’t think it’s just your opinion.  I said in the game week thread Belicheck doesn’t say much but you can read between the lines on the Belestrator and what he says.

I think Belicheck was very concerned about giving up the “chunk play”, the deep bombs and the long Josh Allen runs.  And they were fairly successful at containing those things.

I think Belicheck was not worried at all about the Bills run game and their short passing game to the slot or to the RBs.  And I think he kept thinking “any play now they’ll get away from this and go back to Mad Bomber Mode.  Surprise, Bill!

I've said repeatedly going back to 2020 the Bills are capable of running the ball well if they wanted to, they just simply seem disinterested in doing so many times.

They did turn the ball over.

Are you really arguing that the running game is good by saying that 2 guys together got over 100 yards? Yeah, argument lost there.

Anyone who thinks the Bills are going to waste giving RBs 30 carries a game with Allen are probably going to need to wait a looooonnnngg time for a very specific week and gameplan to be right

This is a throwing team and always will be while Allen is here. Running is secondary. Some weeks VERY secondary.

The reason the run game is now working is cuz we're actually handing the football off to RBs.  Up until the last few weeks it's rot been that we couldn't run the Football; we just chose not to.  Now we are choosing to and its working.  Cook's gonna break some big ones if this keeps up.

Someone woke Dorsey up and noted that opposing defenses are playing a 2 Deep cover/ shell against the Bills. A pro team should be able to run against that.

Removing carries from Moss who was not effective and giving them to Cook who is flashing now was addition by subtraction.

The balance is helping.

I wasn't critical of the run game per se. I was critical of the, seeming, aversion to it even when it was working well, or when situational football called for it.

Saying that, I was happy to see Dorsey use it last night to take pressure off of Allen. We saw a more balanced attack last night, and we'll need more of that in January.

oh stop. this is just as bad as the edmunds post. We slam our team when they play bad and praise the heck out of our team when we play good. to many "you must eat crow" or "i told you so" threads with people beating their chest while they posting it.

Congrats Buffalo. you got your running game going. Lets see what happens when we play against real teams.

They are not always well designed IMO, as if Ken uses the run if Josh is struggling to pull the rabbits out of his hat.
Run game etc,  as mentioned above should be a focus, and then the big plays will come

In reality they are "built for this".

They have assembled an OL of primarily run blocking specialists and they have invested 3 day two draft picks into RB's......then traded one of them and another pick for an upgrade.........and their QB is a great runner.

What they aren't built for is for a QB to sit in the shotgun running a spread offense and dissect a defense thru the air.     They can't pass block for sh*t and aside from Diggs their WR/TE group isn't very easy to complete passes to.

They're like fifth in rush offense

That’s not the point. I was simply stating the OP was trying to argue that the run game was good last night because between 2 players they rushed for over 100 yards. It’s comical.

not to mention the argument that you are trying to make about them being 5th in rushing. Especially when your leading rusher is your QB. Some of those are designed but the majority is when he plays hero ball and creates something when nothing is there and everything breaks down. Hardly an impressive running game.

Another fun fact: Bills are the only team with 100+ yards rushing per game.

Whoa......  117 yards on 27 carries is not something  to crow on and on about.   It was good yesterday, but still under 5 yards a carry.

Still were a lot of 2nd and 8's or 9's and third and 3.

JA did the heavy lifting.

Holy crap man you are so negative. Are you really trying to be the smart guy that points out all the flaws to sound smart? You’re like the intellectual turd that gets put in his place in Good Will Hunting. How do you like them apples?
