This happened recently, 2018, against the Bears, they played at Chicago in the last week of Pre-Season, then in Buffalo the first week in November. Interesting side note for that year, in Pre-Season they played the Panthers, Browns, Bengals, and Bears. How about "goes" instead of "says"? As in, "he goes 'how do you like that?'" And the use of the past tense of "write" ("wrote") instead of the past participle "written" (as well as other irregular verbs)? My doctor, who is about 20 years younger than I am and Brown educated, said something like "he has wrote". I had to bite my lip from saying anything, lol. I also once emailed a journalist about his usage of something similar, and he actually (and obliviously) defended what he wrote as correct. Don't get me started on "lay" vs. "lie" either. Or "submit" in mixed martial arts ("John submitted him"). Sorry, I can go on and on, as I expect you can. As I recall there was a player strike so it was a bunch of guys who had no business being in an NFL game. That's why someone gave me the tickets for free. Truly we were just cheering for the laundry.
