transplantbillsfan
(Ongoing weekly thread. Go to pg 54+ EOY & week 18 talk) Dominant game despite 2 interceptions, 1 of which wasn't his fault. Entire 1st half I was honestly wondering why Buffalo wouldn't take any shots downfield. Then we took 2 in the 2nd half and connected on both. Can't complain about that. So in the end... on a national stage against the defending Super Bowl Champs (and Aaron Donald and Mr "I'm not here to blow smoke" who GOT smoked): 83.9% completion % 9.6 YPA 353 yards of offense 4 TDs 2 TOs Not too bad... https://twitter.com/ColinCowherd/status/1568067127516745730?t=Q5I3rLrIu4GY5BijeR6N6Q&s=19 Edited February 11, 2023 by transplantbillsfan 2 1

Is this really the narrative you're sticking with again? Rodgers (4) is literally like the only guy… Hebert (15), Burrow (14), Mahomes (13) and Brady (12). Josh had 15 last year… you’re trying to tell me 1-3 interceptions will be the difference? Can't win it with double digit INT's when Rodgers has 4... Got it. Absolutely nobody else has a chance because Rodgers will throw less interceptions. Is that your logic? 2 minutes ago, Gene1973 said: And who won the MVP? That award is an individuals stats competition. Can't win it with double digit INT's when Rodgers has 4... You’re phrasing it like a Josh problem… it’s just the fact Rodgers is elite at protecting the football. Josh doesn’t throw any more interceptions than the rest of the field. Rodgers just throws less. Process
One thing going against Allen in the MVP race is our defense. I have a feeling a lot of our games will be over by the start of the 4Q, or earlier. 1

Wyobills89
I honestly don't think Allen will throw a ton of picks this year. His 1 int that was his fault was the wr option route like Warner was saying. He had 1 drive during preseason, Crowder is new, I think he and the new wrs starts to gel and we see why JA is number 1 player in the league. 2

Ray Stonada
I’d take Josh over Aaron Rodgers a thousand times out of a thousand. What I loved: when adversity hit, couple bad luck interceptions and his backs fumbling, Josh just focused harder and kept trucking. Like Mike Tyson said, everybody has a plan until you get hit in the mouth. Josh got hit and stayed true to his plan. 1

Billsfan1972
How quickly things change with Josh. I remember early in his career week 1 vs. the Jets he throws a perfect pass to Beasley (about 5 yards) who can't hold it, pops up and is returned for a TD and pages of posts as to whether it was a good throw or if this was a symptom of Allen not being accurate and no finesse as it was thrown too hard. Fast forward to last night and Mackenzie not holding a similar pass and it popping out and the defender getting an int. Now (and rightly so) it was 100% Mackenzie's fault. Time have certainly changed.....😉 2

So just under 3 touchdowns per game, and just under 300 yards per game. I don't see any reason why he can't accomplish that. Our multiple primetime games is going to help in an MVP bid. Voters will be looking beyond just pure stats. Yes, he threw two picks last night. But everyone realizes the first wasn't close to his fault, and the second was pretty much his only bad throw the entire night. The rest of the game he was absolutely unstoppable. zow2
Josh was amazing. And it was a hugely important game to get off to a good start (be 1-0) and completely bury the stench of Kansas City. That being said, we all know JA loves contact, but he simply has to scale it back during the regular season for self-preservation reasons. If he has to take off on unscripted runs, slide or get out of bounds. It's a time tested way to avoid injuries.
