BuffaloBill
12th man seems generic. Also, fails to account for away games where Bills Loyalists show up in numbers. What do you think? 1
Bad Things
No. Although it's gained traction in the last few years, "Bills Mafia" is a really lame name. 13 1 2

El Guapo
I say yes, old timers will say no. Heck, just add Bills Mafia along side the 12th Man There is no right answer. Some will argue about the connotations of the word mafia, but the national media has accepted and encouraged its use. It is a unique element to the Bills and ought be embraced. Just now, LeGOATski said: It's 2019. Should be "12th Person" Ok, you’ve been triggered. Got it. ?♂️

Bob in STL
No. The 12th man is special. We were called that by the greatest teams we ever had. Coming to Rich Stadium to play the Bills and the 12th man was once a daunting task.

Another Fan
When other fans hear Bills Mafia they tend to just think of the slamming tables, humping girls in public, fans lighting themselves on fire, etc... So of course there’d probably be some who’d want it ? Edited September 18, 2019 by Another Fan 1
Nester
Na, “Mafia” is so lame and just full of cringe. It’s embarrassing when they actually say it on tv 2
Kirby Jackson
It’s actually an interesting thought and I voted yes. 12th man isn’t us!! Texas A&M owns it (I think) and the Seahawks are the NFL team that everyone identifies with it. It’s like the Bills trying to pretend that, “Trust the Process” is a Bills thing. It isn’t. The whole Bills Mafia thing is us and only us. It’s an all-encompassing term to encapsulate the way that we rally together, good and bad. I ALWAYS prefer things that are ours not things that we took from someone else. 9

hondo in seattle
I'm pretty ambivalent because I don't like either epithet. "12th Man" isn't original. "Mafia" has negative associations. But since the "12th Man" moniker isn't used anymore and Bills fans are widely called the "Bills Mafia" now, I get BB's point.

Warcodered
12th man is literally a thing that means the fans represent a force like a 12th player on the field. Bills Mafia is just a name for the fans it doesn't really have any meaning of them cheering being a useful force.

thronethinker
12th Man really was a factor when Rich Stadium sat 83,000 people in the early 90's and you could completely get in the heads of visiting teams. Crowd noise was much louder then. Bills Mafia is more fitting today. Edited September 18, 2019 by thronethinker

My point is Mafia is slightly better than Bills rapists. (OK, that’s slightly extreme!) The Mafia is renowned for (and exists because of) it’s illegal and egregiously evil behavior. BuffAlone
good question. to me "mafia" sounds bad. however, we have Cornhuskers, Redskins,Yankees,Buccaneers,Raiders,Devils, the list goes on and on of "derogatory" names.I'm under the opinion of no harm, no foul. its just a nickname. US Egg
The national media citing the Bills Mafia label is more embarrassing than losing 4 straight SB's, O.J. and 17 seasons of missing the playoffs combined. It wreaks of a fan base desperate and insecure by those who seek to be identified as such imo.
