Don Otreply
I gotta say, Ed sure is a humble guy, and or he knows what he wants people to think about him. Me thinks he is gonna be an absolute beast. Go Bills!!!

MR8
I love that he's also getting so much one on one time with Kyle Williams to help him hone his skills. I would bet that Kyle would be a coach on this staff if it weren't for his desire to be home in Louisana to spend time with his kids now. He made a big point about all of that last year after he made his announcement, and I bet he doesn't want to be on a staff as a coach up here, because it would be just like being a player. He'd need to uproot the family, etc... but this year is the first time he doesn't need to do that. Rather he gets to enjoy his kids, but you just can't take football out of the guy. So he's up here for camp, but will go home to his family for the season mostly....

I think coach is trying to get him to realize that flying a bit under the radar is a good thing at this point of his career as it were. Coach does indeed run the roost at OBD. elroy16
I'm loving Ed's effort and attitude. A stupid incident with a jacket, him being extremely confident in an interview, and him getting upset about messing up in practice aren't going to persuade me otherwise. 4

He knows he is talented, but he is relishing every moment and can't wait for the lights to come on and the games to mean something. He is soaking up every bit of knowledge he can. I can't wait to see him play.

Drunken Pygmy Goat
He also said he was kicked out of practice yesterday for bruising Josh Allen, and said it was just a matter of time. Someting similar in college as well. Gotta tone it down a bit against your own, but you have to love that kind of intensity from a rookie DT. 2
eball
Ed is going to make a lot of OCs (and QBs) nervous. And just watch Jerry's and Trent's sack numbers rise this year.

Rocket94
Ok Ed...You are probably seeing Donald in your sleep after all of the comparisons. Just stay humble. GreggTX
Really looking forward to seeing this guy play and grow into everything he was in college and more. If Murphy and/or Shaq has a good year, we're in business. 8 hours ago, Rocket94 said: Ok Ed...You are probably seeing Donald in your sleep after all of the comparisons. Just stay humble. Until then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

A lot to like in that text, that he's studying Donald and that he knows he's a rookie and needs to talk like it. I was so hoping he'd fall to 9th. Yeah, many have posted about McDermott working to humble Oliver....but I have wondered if it is as much about bolstering Phillips' ego as it is about keeping Oliver's in check. Remember, Phillips felt out of favor with the Dolphins after run-ins with his coach...because he felt unappreciated. Maybe McDermott doesn't want him to think he is just getting thrown aside once the Bills have their new toy. Even if he eventually is a backup, it might help his ego to feel he was seriously considered as a starter.
Tsaikotic
I like it....it also might help Ed look good to Arron for in case Ed was to call him for advice on how to play DT some day and Ed didn't act like he was already as good or better then Arron...you never know

His first 2 years he was all over the line. They would stunt him around the end His biggest weakness is his hand technique which is directly related to pass rushing. He was top 10 multiple times in college for stuffing runs behind the line of scrimmage People think because he's 290 he can't stop the run but that's his specialty after re watching his college games He has a good amount to go to become a 12 sacks guy,( which he can become) but he will be shutting down backside runs all year Edited August 2, 2019 by Buffalo716
