If we could get a second I would be thrilled but It would be hard to believe that we could get that for a 30 year old running back. If it were anything less than a 3rd, I don't think it would be worth it considering how poor we are on offense. The Eagles are looking at this year as another SB run so they would spend more to insure that run happens. If they just were another team sitting on the fringe of the post season then yes they would be more conservative with an offer.

No brainer unless they think we can win this year..... Well, a lot of people (including myself) thought we could've started 0-5 to 0-7. So, 2-3 is pretty surprising. I think we could be competitive this year and, most importantly, GROW. I don't want to strip the team of its captain and only offensive force. That will demoralize everyone. It's not worth the 2nd or 3rd.

McCoy has been treated very well in Buffalo and I think he would welcome a chance to get back to Philly and be on a team that is talented enough to win a Super Bowl. I would expect that he would have very kind words for the city and the organization on his way out the door if he was indeed heading back to Philly. I liked the idea (posted in a similar thread) to have a sit down with McCoy and give him the option. Of course you don not let him go for less than a 2nd round pick in 2019. From purely a business plan perspective, it makes sense to trade him since we're really building for 2 years from now, when McCoy likely won't be here or be at his best anymore anyway. However...we're so strapped on weapons that it could make QB1's development even tougher. If the plan is to keep playing him the rest of this season and the return is going to be a 3rd round pick or lower, it might make sense to keep him . I’m with ya here. Completely depends on the pick. 3rd or more...you almost have to. What’s up with Murphy? Is he hurt or a healthy scratch?

I don’t think they make it past the Wild Card given the way the look right now They have as good a chance as any other NFC east team of winning that division. They are a championship team and if I were them and believed McCoy makes a big difference, I'd trade a second (a pick in the mid-high 50s, after all). They are not playing for the future. The Bills should NOT trade him for a 3rd because a) he has a reasonable contract and b) is likely to be far better in 2019 than any 3rd round RB they draft. MDH
43 minutes ago, Logic said: I'm pretty torn about this. On the one hand, the Bills have already pretty much stripped the offense to the nubs. Getting one more good draft pick in exchange for a player who likely won't be around when the Bills are ready for prime time potentially makes sense. On the other hand, McCoy is a locker room leader, a team captain, and has a great relationship with Allen. Taking away the ONE good offensive player the Bills have -- and thus making life even HARDER on their rookie QB -- might be a foolhardy move. The question, of course, is what would the compensation be? Anything less than a 2nd rounder (which I doubt the Eagles would be willing to part with) probably isn't worth it. Why? Because, again, you don't want to make Allen's difficult development even MORE difficult by stripping him of another good offensive player and a mentor/leader in the locker room. That all makes sense but if they could get a 3rd for McCoy that pick could be used to upgrade the OL next season which would also help Allen. Im not sure what the answer is but I do know that anything less than a 3rd isn’t worth it.

Makes no sense to dump him when he has become close to Josh and is his only real dependable weapon. Trades I would do (not that it means the Eagles would, but if available I would) Shady for Alshon straight up. Shady for a 2nd Shady for a 3rd and Goedert Shady for Agholar and a 4th I think the best case scenario is: Shady for a 3rd. I would be surprised if we got more than that, but Beane shocked me too when he got a 3rd for Tyrod. I would expect the Eagles will push to keep it at a 4th rounder at most given his age, off field question marks, and salary. But we are in position of power here, we dont need to trade Shady as we have plenty of cap space already next year. If its a 4th rounder or less, then I wouldn't do it. Its more important to help Josh than to get an extra fourth IMO and we already have a TON of cap space next year, so dumping McCoy for salary really would be pointless. Honestly, it would be hard to do it for a 3rd even just given the importance of having some help for Josh out there and Shady is his biggest fan on this team. Dude, Goedert was the 49th overall pick in the last draft.

Only way it makes sense is to load up on picks or get a pick and a player that can catch or block back IMO. LABILLBACKER
We love Shady but realistically he's not part of this teams long term future. In fact this might be McCoy's last year. If we can get a 2nd for him do it in a heartbeat. Murphy & Ivory can hold down the fort. I'm sure we'll draft a 3rd rb in April.
Logic
I like that the Bills are asking for too much. They don't NEED to trade McCoy. It's Philly that wants him. If they want him bad enough, they'll overpay. If not, then no trade, and the Bills keep their best offensive player (who hasn't yet lost a step, by the way). Win-Win for Buffalo. 7
