Yeah.. it's fun to see real receivers make catches they shouldn't be making.. as opposed to receivers not making catches they should be making

This is not a good team, so might as well give him experience. 

He would get better quicker by gaining confidence. Build a power run game and make the opponents think stop the run! Then more passing options will be open and he could pick and choose his passes without having to dodge a jailbreak every play.

Thats fine. Again, he’s a rookie.  They are not.  They still need to catch passes that hit them in the hands.

Allen has missed 172 open receivers so far today (all numbers approximate). 

 

Also, he has a really bad habit of telegraphing our running plays. He'll immediately extend the ball toward the running back as he's running to meet him for the handoff. This only happens when we run the ball. It's annoying.
