Kelvin Benjamin is NOT a Number 1 WR - Being Phased Out with the Youth Movement

I'm not a KB fan, but he's getting roasted for the tipped ball play when he shouldn't be. He's moving downfield and toward the sideline - he's expecting the ball to be in one place - and it gets tipped, instead. His body is moving in one direction and he literally has no time to stop it and move in the exact opposite direction to make a play on the ball. It's bang-bang.

I played receiver, and when a tipped ball like that happens and you're moving in the opposite direction, it's near-impossible to correct in time.

Dom he makes no effort to get back to the ball......for a giant with long arms he should at least be able to make a TRY on the ball when it is tipped and not just watch it.....

Then he drops balls that he high points and it hits him right in the hands

There is simply no excuse

Again, as someone who has played the game, he didn't have time. He's reaching for where the ball should be, it gets tipped, and he's leaning/falling back - he's not really that close to the ball.

But yes, I'd like to see more effort from him.

I dont even eat his lunch for one specific play like this either.......its his overall volume of effort

he quits on plays

he wont block

he cannot gain separation....which you expect because he is so slow but then he also cannot "basketball defend" corners from the play with his size and drag in balls away from smaller players either.....which he should be able to do really easy

Basically he is a big guy that plays small

I will say he had been in the air for it but still it looked like there might of been a moment where he got his feet set under him and could of made an attempt. It is pretty close to call on that play.

I'm going with the comment 26 highlighted above, namely he saw the defender coming to try and get it and didn't want to take a chance that he would get hurt. Unfortunately for him, the team he goes to next year will have a lot of tape with that level of effort.

Benjamin said he's going to leave everything on the field.

"We got six games left and I gotta try and go all out and put my body on the line,"   he said. "Hopefully I come out healthy and just get ready for the offseason."

In other words, My agent told me I need to play my best these last 6 games so that he's got something to sell to possible buyers.

Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin described his 2018 season as "rock bottom." Benjamin is averaging just two catches per game this season. Can he turn it around for the remaining slate of games?

Wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is having a season to forget for the Buffalo Bills.

With just 20 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown on the season, Benjamin categorized his 2018 campaign, which is a contract year, as reaching "rock bottom," according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.

"It's just a bad season," Benjamin said. "It is what it is. Just football, man. You have good seasons, you have bad seasons. I've had successful seasons in this league. I'll have plenty more. For some reason, it's just not the year."

Plenty has gone wrong with Benjamin's season, but perhaps some of the issues could be directed to an unsettled quarterback position, as rookie Josh Allen, Nathan Peterman, Derek Anderson and Matt Barkley all drew a start at some point through 10 games.

I belive he’s going to be in for a surprise on how little money he garners in what could’ve been a large payday.

He could explain his way around the lack of production, but that lack of effort is captured on film. Someone might give him a several mil one year prove it deal.  But I don’t expect much beyond that .

I think the Bills have come to the same conclusion the Panthers did years ago - Benjamin is too slow in today's NFL.

"This was more about getting more speed on the field. We've got some young players who we think have some real ability," Hurney told Joseph Person of The Charlotte Observer. "Kelvin was a very good player and was productive for us. It was more getting a mix of skill sets on the field and more speed."

Hurney added on 102.5 FM The Fan in Charlotte on Wednesday that Carolina had "too many WRs with similar skill sets". The GM suggested that ridding the team of Benjamin will allow "the run game to flourish" and the Panthers "clear out the box."

It is unfortunate the situation this organization has put him in.

He has been successful before and he will be again, hopefully he finds the right leadership.

Its obvious he isn’t happy and I don’t blame him.

Out of curiousity how do you feel bad for him?

Hes barely even trying

People just regurgitate false rumors.  “He’s barely even trying,” for example.

Kelvin is a #1 receiver who will be a coveted free agent.  The guy can ball.

I hope we don’t screw this up and let him walk...

Do you post these things just to troll and create attention?  There's no way you can possibly believe any of this.

I liked KB prior to his arrival in Buffalo. I’m now convinced he could drown in a shallow puddle. He has no fight. I feel bad for the team who signs him.

I had to laugh out loud !
the fact he cannot figure why he sucks amazes me.

Has Coach ever spoken to him about effort, and that effort makes up for many things in life /

Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin believes he's hit 'rock bottom' this season.

YA THINK?

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Having caught only 20 passes for 302 yards through 10 games, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin believes he has reached "rock bottom" this season as he prepares for unrestricted free agency in March.

"It's just a bad season," Benjamin said Monday as the Bills, with a 3-7 record, returned from their bye week. "It is what it is. Just football, man. You have good seasons, you have bad seasons. I've had successful seasons in this league. I'll have plenty more. For some reason, it's just not the year."

I don't care how bad your team is, there is no excuse for not trying.  Just ask Archie Manning.  As for KB, that flushing noise you hear is the future money he's flushing away by mailing it in this season.  He's in for a rude awakening, and it will be all on him.
