If he falls to 2 then that will at least give us a chance to deal with Gettleman. If the Giants covet Sam which they should than we have to pray the Jets don't draft Mayfield. They will want a ransom or they will take Darnold. They hold all the cards here. Until the Giants are on the clock the price wont reach its largest figure. The next guess is who does the Giants value positional wise? Chubb, Nelson? Maybe Buffalo trades up for either of those guys and trade the players once they know you have their guy. There is many outcomes but i do not expect them to playout until they are on the clock and there is no doubt who is available. PR wise Beane is going to wait for the draft to trade so they can say we moved up for x player and x player only. They were only missing the QB. But I get your point. We could be the new Chiefs, getting to the playoffs and losing our first game with little hope of advancing every season. That is an improvement, but who shoots for that? I see Allen going #1 as a GREAT thing, because it pushes all the better prospects (in my mind) down. Trade away two years worth of picks. On the other hand a team that has pick 2 might not want a QB. Makes total sense. it doesn't matter what sequence takes place. He didn't hurt his stock for poor play this year. He probably was the forgotten man due to Cousins, keenum's great year, and the fact that Bridgewater, etc were available. Do we know for sure if it's a good or bad thing if the Browns take Josh Allen @ #1? Obviously it's bad if that means the Giants take Darnold @ #2. But is it really a sure thing that would happen? If the Browns take Allen @ 1 and the Giants DON'T take a QB at 2, that would be a dream scenario (for those of us that don't want the Bills to draft Allen) since it likely means at least one of Darnold/Rosen/Mayfield will either be there at 12 or at the very least fall to the bottom of the top 10 if we can stay ahead of Miami/Arizona. fridge Posted April 2, 2018 Share Posted April 2, 2018 I assume that even if we miraculously land a top QB by moving up in the draft that we will still be in our famous 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 mode for at least a couple more seasons. So that being said he could have little to no effect on this season. Rosen and Mayfield are more pro ready than Allen and I think Darnold is going to have a rough curve as well.
