Logic
One way or the other, I expect the Bills to draft a rookie QB in the draft next month. Furthermore, it's pretty clear that there will be an open QB competition in training camp to decide who starts. It's easy to just say "I want whoever wins the competition to be the starter!". Well...duh! I also realize that not knowing who the rookie QB will be will perhaps impact the answers to this. Maybe it won't. What I'm asking is who would YOU PERSONALLY like to see as the starter at QB for the Bills on opening day? Do you want to see McCarron get his shot? Maybe you think Peterman got a bad rap last year and deserves another go of it in a new offense? Perhaps you think rookie QBs should start from day one and take their lumps? Perhaps you're dead set on a rookie sitting on the bench in year one? So the question is... Who would you like to see under center on opening day in 2018 and why? JackKemp
I am hoping for best case scenario. McCarron shows enough during OTAs, training camp and pre-season to win the job. The rookie sits behind him learning for one to two years. Then we trade McCarron to a QB hungry team for new assests and our franchise QB takes over. I voted McCarron, although if the question was geared around starting in week 10 rather than week 1, I'd have voted for rookie QB. I kind of want to see McCarron get his shot, partially because I don't think he's very good (fine with him as a backup though!) and maybe I'm wrong. Plus, as a fan, if your starter isn't playing well and there's a 1st-round rookie behind him, that's not so bad. But if the starter isn't playing well and there's a journeyman backup behind him, that's much less sunny.

Dr. Who
Rosen and Mayfield are the only fellas capable of starting day 1, imo. I would take either, but I really like Mayfield. Otherwise, McCarron starts.

I want to see McCarron crushing it so by week 10 and beyond we are on a playoff run. I would love to see McCarron be a top 5 QB in the NFL. Will that happen? John from Riverside
Ideally you want a veteran guy on a team that just made the playoffs to play well enough to get wins...... I still feel that the best case scenario (if we have to give up a mint in picks) is to select Lamar Jackson at 12..... He needs a year holding the clip board....but his upside is incredible. And would allow us to feel holes at LB, WR, and OL in this draft. We could even get a RB of the future out of this deep class.

Call_Of_Ktulu
I don't see any of these QB's beating out AJM for the starting job. Mayfield might be the only one that might be able to do it but I would still have him sit and learn for a year.
smuvtalker
I definitely feel like Peterman got a bad rap, and yes he stunk it up in SD, but he did come back to have a solid quarter or so vs Indy. IMO we haven't seen enough of him to already label him NOT the answer. I still have faith in my fellow Panther. However, I feel like the McCarron signing was perfect, and I expect him to beat out Peterman and the rookie to start day one. BUT... If the rookie, for arguments sake we'll call him Baker, goes lights out in camp, throws 5 or 6 touchdowns in the preseason, and has clearly shown that he is "the guy", how do you not start him? I'm ALL for letting him sit for a year, hold that clipboard, and soak up some knowledge. That would be our IDEAL situation, but if he shreds in camp, all bets are off. Throw him to the wolves and see what he's made of. Edited March 26, 2018 by smuvtalker

buffalobloodfloridahome
I expect McCarron to start for maybe a few weeks and then ease the Rookie in. Honestly it all depends on who they draft though. Rosen probably ready day one. Darnold will need a few weeks. Mayfield I would give a few weeks. Allen may need to sit a year or more. rodneykm
McCarron should start until / if it becomes very apparent he's not the guy. Let Peterman have a shot after that.... NewEra
it’s pretty obvious to me that I’d like to have a rookie QBs starting. That would means that he had outperformed mccarron in camp and that’s the best case scenario. I’m not saying that’s the best thing for said QB, it would show that that QB is, at least, better than a low tier starter. When considering this rookie QB will hold our teams future in his arm and head, I could care less if we get a better pick for mccarron. I just want whichever Av we draft to be good Edited March 26, 2018 by NewEra
