If he signs, he won't prevent us in any way from trading up for a guy. He is pretty much the perfect bridge guy whether it is for a half a season or a season. Logic Posted March 12, 2018 Share Posted March 12, 2018 If the Bills sign Matt Moore, it means they are DEFINITELY trading up in the draft for a "big four" QB. There's no way that with a QB depth chart of Matt Moore and Nate Peterman, you're content sitting around until 21 and hoping you land a guy. If Moore signs, it's a trade-up. Teddy Marchibroda once said this about backup QB’s: ”They’ll win you 3 games and then they’ll lose you 3 games.” That is Matt Moore in a nutshell. Perfect guy for the quarterback room, good dude who knows the offense and could start 4-8 games if the rookie needs some time. Moore’s numbers are decent for a back-up and you don’t want a back-up pushing to start if you’re pushing all your chips in for the Rookie.
