Of course, at Home in January means both teams battle Old Man Winter as well as each other and today is no exception. At least they’re somewhat familiar with freezing temps -if not back to back ‘snowpocalpses’.. For all the uncertainty that was the Bills this season, we’re 8-1 at Home! The Bills extended their current winning streak to 6 games beating Pittsburgh handily last week while the defending Champions finished their season at 5-4 before beating the hapless fish last week at Home. Yet again though, we couldn’t escape injuries. Gabe Davis and Taylor Rapp still can’t play and now we’ve lost the services of CB Christian Benford and LB Babylon Spector, while P Sam Martin is Questionable. BUT, CB Rasul Douglas IS back and star LB Terrel Bernard and All Pro nickel Taron Johnson MAY return today.. 🤞 No sooner did I dub Khalil Shakir WR2 when he made a jaw-dropping, unbelievable play that clinched the victory last week as well as 2 other meaningful catches throughout the game! We’ll need more of the same today as the Chiefs are a top Defense, 2nd in sacks and 2nd in total Defense overall. Chris Jones & Karlaftis have 21 sacks combined and Steve Spagnola has transformed the Secondary into an elite corps, though we can attack Watson. They now roll with QB spies -which may be to their detriment shadowing our QB.. But this a decidedly different Offense than the League is used to. As their recent record suggests, they are no longer rolling every team, barely scoring in the low 20’s pts/game. Yes, Mahomes is still brilliant and can will his team to victory, but his supporting cast is simply ordinary. Kelsey has ‘other interests’ (see Swifty in a box here today!), their receivers are middling and their OLine is susceptible to the rush. Plus their OT is the most penalized player in the League! But their RBs can take over a game. I expect our pass rush to keep Mahomes on his toes today and so relieved Daquan Jones is back and playing great! Speaking of the Scarlet and Royal Blue, our Offense has come together since Joe Brady took over play calling. Knox is back and fully involved in 12 personnel groupings with the wunderkid Dalton Kincaid -who’s getting more impactful with each game. Knox’s TD catch last week moved him ahead of no less than Jerry Rice in career playoff TDs! 😳 Pro Bowl bound RB James Cook is COOKING and our OLine is playing exceptionally! Were it not for ST injuries and unexpectedly poor kicking by Tyler Bass, our Offense has hit its stride just in time for KC. [insert weekly paragraph] Then, there’s Josh Allen. *NSFW Allen loves playing KC and dueling with Mahomes! These 2 surefire HOFers are at their very best when they face each other and the whole football world loves it even more! Simply put, these 2 guys turn chaos into an art form! Just when you think you’ve seen everything from Josh, he takes off on a 52 yard scramble TD! in the Playoffs! He was error free last week, bringing him to a perfect 18-0 when he doesn’t turn the ball over. He personally whooped the Steelers with 70% completions, 3 pass TDs plus his unconscious runs for another 74 yrds! NO ONE has ever seen the likes of him before! So CHERISH IT! RELISH IT! LIVE IT! I expected to be doing so for the final time, as the 11th ranked Bills headed to Arrowhead in this FUBARed 2024 Season. But the plucky Bills held serve and we witnessed both Kermit & Snot Nose melt down. THEY most assuredly had an uneasy sense of the today to come and were really pissed about being unable to knock out their most hotly contested and yearly rival to get to the AFC Championship. THAT was highly amusing. Still, the Chiefs had cream puffs on their upcoming schedule… at home… and the Bills were still what… 9th overall in the Playoff hunt? And then there were EIGHT. Wore the Sweatshirt that entire week until the next game,the incredible beat down of the Cowgirls. Chiefs beat the Cheats- of course. Wore the Sweatshirt that entire week until the next game, where the Bills stumbled, bumbled & fumbled their way through the pathetic Chargers. Settled in for the MNF beatdown of the 49ers by Lamar. Only then, did I realize… holy *****… the pathetic Raiders upset the Chiefs at Arrowhead, giving Bills fans a very late, but much appreciated Christmas present. SEASON ON! At this point, only fools didn’t recognize what was shaking down. When asked asked by random people… and yes…”Wore the Sweatshirt that entire week until the next game” I said… “the ONLY goal now is not to merely make the Playoffs, it is to seize that #2 Seed from the Chiefs! I don’t want the Bills to back in… I want Paddy to be forced to come to ORCHARD PARK… for the first time ever.. to be beaten!!” Bills stumble and bumble a bit, after cruising early against the Cheats. Setting all the marbles up for the Squishing of the Fraud Fish! And…”wore the Sweatshirt that entire week until the next game.” Fish got mamalled! Then I said, and now there are FOUR! And…”Wore the Sweatshirt that entire week until the next game.” I expected a Home victory against the #7 Squeelers, but did not want any looking ahead. Mission accomplished. And then there were THREE! Right here, right now! I only had trepidation last week, worried about a possible stumble against an inferior opponent. Today, in about 10 hours… ALL the demons get exorcised! Kermit et al are finally sent packing. And why would that be? Because the Bills are going to play like the monsters we saw against Dallas- that hurting D is going to pile drive Kelce, Pacheco, Rice and hurry Paddy on every play. And the Unicorn is going to run it up- LARGE! Because THIS time, the OP 12th Man Mafia is going to do what I and 78,000+ madmen did 30 years ago at 2 AFC Championship and multiple Playoff games … MAKE SURE THAT MAHOMES CAN’T HEAR HIMSELF, FROM THE TIME THEY HEAD TO THE HUDDLE UNTIL THE BALL IS SNAPPED ON EVERY PLAY! Make Dawkins and every Bills fan proud! Make certain there is a constant, plane takeoff din happening! If you have to stand for the entire game, DO SO… as I did before! Make us all proud. Then, to top it off we get a Kansas City team that isn't quite what they have been in years past. No excuses. None. We need to get this done tonight. Winning today erases a lot of bad vibes from the recent past. Shows a McDermott led Bills team belongs at the top of the AFC conversation. Losing, and yet again become the Chiefs postseason b**** and I'll move into the "a shakeup is needed" crowd.
