Settle always has a great preseason and is the talk of everything and then never makes a single play in the regular season. Been that way ever since he's been here. I would rather see Ford in those 4T and 3T spots than the bizaar rotatiobns I have seen with some of our ends playing the middle where they are out of their weight class. I can see Groot there because he has such a good strong anchor, balance, long arms and heavy hands, and played inside sitations in college, but I think I saw them rotate Von into middle a few times last week when he is clearly not there and getting swatted aside on the edges. 3D chess? WideNine Posted November 19, 2023 Share Posted November 19, 2023 On a more positive note the plays have been there to be made all over the field during this crappy run. Guys have been schemed open or beaten coverage, but the ball has not gotten there or has been dropped/fumbled whatever. But the plays have been there and our players have the skills to get open and make plays - they just have not been executing and finishing. The runs have been there for most of the year too. On defense I have lost count of how many almost INTs we have been in position to make or fumbles that have taken lucky bounces for the opposing team. I've had a somewhat negative outlook this season because our offense hasn't felt right and often seemed out of sync. Hated the playcalling too. This could change everything. Or, the flip side, the players remain disconnected and this loss will virtually signal an end to the season and maybe McD's tenure. I'd rather we start something today. We can win the superbowl with this roster. It's not that much different than the 13 seconds team. We just need the coaches to put us in a better position.
